FROM HYATTRESIDENTIAL GROUP

As Hawaiians say, “Maui No Ka ‘Oi” (Maui is the Best) and soon it will be even better with the addition of a new Hyatt Residence Club resort.

Hyatt Residence Club is proud to announce the newest addition to an impressive portfolio of resorts: Hyatt Kā‘anapali Beach, A Hyatt Residence Club.

Located directly on one of Maui’s most celebrated beaches, Hyatt Kā‘anapali Beach shares 1,800 linear feet of crescent beach and 40 tropical acres with the legendary Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa.

Impressive and imaginative, the 12-story oceanfront tower is now

under construction, with completion anticipated late 2014. The tower is carefully sited so the majority of 3-, 2- and 1-bedroom residences will have uninterrupted views of shimmering beach, searing sunsets and migrating whales, while a few select 1-bedroom residences will look across the dramatic, rainbow-cloaked West Maui mountains.

In keeping with the Hyatt Residence Club tradition of excellence, each residence will be fully furnished so that members and guests will feel like they’re completely at home. Tastefully inviting kitchens will include full-size refrigerators, dishwashers and cooktops. Living areas will be

Renovations at Mountain Resorts

HYATT GRAND ASPEN Replacement of furniture, appliances and cookware are among the reserve projects completed in 2013. Outdoor teak furniture at the pool and fi re pit and on balconies and patios has been replaced with furniture more durable for extreme climate changes. In all B units, washers and dryers have been replaced with GE models, while Le Creuset pots and pans have been replaced with All-Clad products. And new rugs in the lobby now make the entryway more inviting.

HYATT HIGH SIERRA LODGE Carpeting in corridors of the common areas was replaced in all six buildings, and all six elevators were completely remodeled. New pillows and other bedding were introduced, and to better accommodate all guests, two ADA-compliant accessible chairlifts

have been installed in the pool and spa area.

RESIDENCES AT PARK HYATT BEAVER CREEK Sprucing up the residences was accomplished in 2013. Projects included refi nishing and repairing wood fl oors in all units, replacing televisions with high-defi nition sets, painting the units and installing new blinds in master bedrooms of units ending in 55. For the 2013-14 ski season, two escalators now take skiers directly to slope side from the ice rink level, where the Zamboni machine has been relocated to a less conspicuous place and in its place a new seating area around a gas fi replace has been added.

HYATT MAIN STREET STATION On Christmas Day 2013, Breckenridge Ski Resort opened new terrain on 543 acres in the Peak 6 area. The project

includes 400 acres of lift-served terrain and 143 acres of “hike-to” terrain. With the addition of Peak 6, Breckenridge now o ers fi ve peaks for a total of 2,901 acres. Within the resort, all king bedrooms now include new mattresses, and two-bedroom residences now feature high-e© ciency washer and dryer units. Larger units now feature 32-inch fl at-screen high-defi nition televisions in the master bedroom.

HYATT MOUNTAIN LODGE Hallways have been refreshed with new carpeting and wallpaper. The media room now boasts a fl at-screen LCD 3D TV. The Villa Montane lobby and entry vestibule have been painted, fi replace chairs reupholstered and drapes and area rugs replaced.

Renovations at Southwest Resorts

HYATT PIÑON POINTE Communications equipment throughout the resort has been updated, including a new server network, PBX and voicemail systems, plus enhanced speed and quality for the resort’s Internet and television services through new provider SuddenLink. In addition, cookware, glassware and china has been replaced in buildings 8-14, window coverings have been updated in Phase 1 units, and the resort parking lot has been repaired and resealed.

HYATT WILD OAK RANCH Located behind The Icehouse, the resort’s new putting green gives players an easy way to warm up for a round of golf at neighboring Hill Country Golf Club. Plus, the special “Putting with the Pro” series allows guests to improve their game. The expanded nature trail now measures nearly 1.5 miles, and a word challenge exercise available at the Camp Armadillo building serves as a guide to plants and wildlife that can be seen on the trail.

Hyatt Wild Oak Ranch’s putting green is a great place for golfers of all ages to hone their skills.

Plenty of folks fl ock to Hyatt Residence Club locations in Colorado and other mountain destinations with one thing on their minds—hitting the slopes for world-class skiing all winter long.

Texas residents Jaci and Rick Crawford are di erent. As non-skiers, the Crawfords come to Hyatt Mountain Lodge, A Hyatt Residence Club, in summertime—in part to escape the Texas heat, but mostly to enjoy hiking, golf and dining at Beaver Creek. Members since the resort opened in 1998, the Crawfords have been visiting the area since the 1980s.

“It was an easy decision to purchase at Hyatt Mountain Lodge because it’s such a convenient drive from our home,” Rick Crawford says. “And after 15 years, our decision has been validated year after year by the great management that has been in place, and the way the resort has been maintained and enhanced.”

Long, leisurely summer stays at the resort allow the Crawfords to create special memories for their family, which includes relatives who live in nearby Denver. In 2012, they hosted a family reunion/40th wedding anniversary celebration, and previously welcomed

a couple of nephews to stay with them while they participated in the Colorado State Open golf tournament when it was held at Beaver Creek.

Since golf is one of the Crawfords’ own passions, they’ve used Hyatt Residence Club points to trade into other vacation experiences, including wintertime stays in Palm Springs, Calif., through Interval International. Among other Hyatt Residence Club locations, Hyatt Wild Oak Ranch is another highlight.

“Of course, there’s the golf course nearby,” Jaci Crawford says. “But it’s also a great, family-oriented resort with spacious units. The Rattlesnake River pool is so relaxing. Our goddaughters love to play in it.”

Their other favorite Hyatt Residence Club locations include Hyatt Sunset Harbor in Key West, Fla.; Hyatt Piñon Pointe in Sedona, Ariz., and Highlands Inn in Carmel, Calif.—where their great experiences led them to make another great decision.

“We own two weeks at Highlands Inn, too,” Rick Crawford says. “It’s right there with Hyatt Mountain Lodge as simply another perfect place to visit.”

Rick and Jaci Crawford escape the Texas heat and visit their home away from home at Hyatt Mountain Lodge every summer.

JP Doepke has worked at several Hyatt Residence Club locations over the past decade, but the call of the island and the kinship with his first Hyatt family have brought him back full circle.

“Ever since the opening of Windward Pointe, I have felt a special connection to this island and this property in particular,” Doepke says.

He began his career with Hyatt Residential Group in 2002 as a management trainee and member of the opening team for Hyatt Windward Pointe, A Hyatt Residence Club, in Key West. He moved on to work at several other locations, but recently returned to Hyatt Windward Pointe as resort manager.

“It’s always nice to see owners who remember you and are happy to have you back at their property,” he says.

That family feeling at Hyatt Windward Pointe is just one of the many reasons members also make the resort their home away from home year after year. While Key West has many charms—great weather, a laidback atmosphere, special events, such as Lobsterfest and Hemingway Days, and attractions

including Key West National Wildlife Refuge—Windward Pointe lures members with its panoramic view of the ocean and incomparable amenities, such as new home theater systems and kitchen appliances and the upgraded Abbey Road, a snack shack providing poolside and grocery services.

“Abbey Road has grown into its own since I have last been here,” Doepke says. “Their menu has expanded and the quality has really been enhanced. It is also nice to see many owners using the grocery delivery option that they provide to us.”

For Doepke, returning to Hyatt Windward Pointe is also about being part of a plan to continue to provide more engaging services and amenities for the ultimate member experience.

“Being able to see a property at opening and then through a transition 12 years later excites me. To be involved in the future design, planning and direction of the next 12 years makes all decisions that much more important for owners and sta.”

In addition to keeping members abreast of on-site developments,

Doepke enjoys sharing stories about other Hyatt Residence Club locations and being a resource for members interested in using points to visit other resorts. His experience includes serving as housekeeping manager and front o©ce manager at Hyatt Coconut Plantation, A Hyatt Residence Club Resort; and as resort manager at Hyatt Wild Oak Ranch, A Hyatt Residence Club Resort; and Highlands Inn, A Hyatt Residence Club Resort.

“If owners ever want tips on when to travel to some of these locations, or unique attractions to experience while visiting, I’m always happy to share my thoughts.”

HYATT COCONUT PLANTATION All exterior walls have been painted. Also, the fitness center has brand new cardio equipment. The Plantation Provision Company now oers a barista area with new Starbucks items, fruit smoothies and protein shakes; and eight flavors of ice cream are now available. Within guest units, bath amenities have been upgraded to include a personal care line with hints of mandarin and green tea plus an essential oils combination with lemongrass. Every unit now features new washer/dryer machines.

HYATT SUNSET HARBOR Guests will notice a faster, more reliable Internet connection with cabling throughout the property upgraded to fiber optic. An additional Weber grill has been added, for a total of two grills, and two permanent ADA lifts have been installed at the pool and spa.

HYATT BEACH HOUSE Landscaping along Cow Key Channel has been completed. Guests now will find a serene walking path along the water, enjoying the view where the buttonwood trees were previously located prior to the rip-rap project. The Tiki Hut has begun serving food from noon to 6 p.m. daily via their food truck.

HYATT HACIENDA DEL MAR In February, the property underwent an extensive painting project that has brightened the exterior of the resort. Towards the end of 2014, a major renovation is scheduled for unit interiors and the lobby. Painting and some electrical upgrades are already under way in preparation for the new furnishings. The design was completed by Carl Ross Design Group and incorporates many of the elements

depicting the beauty of the island of Puerto Rico and the surrounding sea. This is the same design group that was selected for the Hyatt Siesta Key Beach and Hyatt Kā‘anapali Beach properties. Owners and guests will experience a dramatically enriched design and feel throughout the resort. Darker woods and subdued fabrics combined with some unique design selections will create a revitalized experience at this tropical oceanside retreat.
