3rd Sunday of Advent
Sunday School Christmas Program: Emoji Christmas
Thought For The Week:
Third Week of Advent: Peace
This Sunday marks the third Sunday in the
season of Advent. This week’s theme is Peace.
As we enter into this final week before the
celebration of Christ’s birth next Sunday, we
remember one of the titles the prophet Isaiah
gave to the promised Messiah was “Prince of
Peace.” In a world filled with too much war and
violence, we yearn for the time when Christ will
return and his reign of peace will finally take hold.
In the meantime, we seek to be peacemakers in
whatever way we can. This week, watch for ways
you can be a peacemaker in your own corner of
the world. Perhaps it is by helping two friends or
coworkers make amends or by seeking to defuse
a tense situation with a gentle word of
compassion. Above all, pray for the peace that
passes all understanding, the peace only Christ
the Lord can bring.
“For a child has been born for us, a son given to
us…and he is named Wonderful Counselor,
Mighty God,
Everlasting
Father, Prince
of Peace.”
(Isaiah 9:6,
NRSV)
Special Prayers For:
Kerry Marcks uncle, Ed, who will be undergoing a
PET scan to determine if he has cancer.
Shepherd of the Hills, Greenville, for continued
blessings for our partner in ministry as they teach
and prepare our leaders to share the Good News of
Jesus Christ to all people.

Holy Communion will NOT
be celebrated today.
Holy Communion will be celebrated
today. If you are baptized and believe
Christ is
truly present in the bread and wine, you
are
encouraged to partake in the Lord’s
Supper. Christus has individually
wrapped, gluten-free communion wafers
available. If you need to receive com-
munion from your seat, please let an
usher know. Children need to have com-
pleted a course of instruction on the
meaning of Communion. All children are
invited to come forward and receive a
blessing, indicated by crossing their
arms across their chest.
