From the East
Dear Brethren,
I would like to congratulate Brother Oillataguerre on his first step in Masonry. The degree schedule seems to be a little light in the future but we will be busy with a few in March.
Our Sweethearts dinner is coming up, please join the Pedestal officers and at least eight of our Widows at Newport Rib Co February 12. 21 dollars per person, Widows will be treated by the Lodge of course. You can pay on-line or
to the Treasurer, Secretary, or myself, payments must be in by February Stated Meeting so Lady Knowles can finalize the event. February also brings the return of our Soup Kitchen serve on the 4th, Brother Orr is gathering volunteers. Also our Bowling Day is being led by Brother Norman later in the month. As always watch your E-mail for announcements. Fraternally, Scott Buehlmeyer Master
From the West
Good Morning, Afternoon and Evening Brothers,
W ell it has been a bit of a sad month for our lodge. For those who don’t know we have lost Wor. Crank, Wor. Asaly, and Wor. Phillips. While I didn’t get a chance to meet Wor. Crank I was fortunate enough to have
known Wor. Phillips and Asaly. They were the example of what a brother, person, citizen, and friend should be. There was no end to their level of dedication and giving. Where it be to brother in need, or a friend. They were some of the greatest people I have had the honor to know and be associated with. They will be truly missed. I also want to
thank all of the brothers who signed up for the various committees. We have a lot of work in front us, but nothing we can’t tackle together. I look forward to seeing everyone at our next stated meeting. With brotherly love and affection, Gary Shumate Senior Warden
From the South
Brethren,
O ur first month of 2017 is behind us and we look at February! Time flies by and we must remind ourselves that time is the only thing we can not get back. We must make the best use of it as we can.
We look back and pay respect to the Brethren who’m we have lost recently and remind ourselves that although we miss them, their time here on earth was spent wisely. They are now in the Celestial Lodge above in peace and har-
mony. Having recently lost a family member myself, I took solace in reminding myself that death is not the finality. Death is the

kind messenger bringing us to the Creator where all our earthly pain and suffering is now over and a place where we can now re-joice! The beginning of this year has certainly started the lodge off on the right path. Thank you to everyone who came to our first years education with Worshipful Timothy Hogan. My head is still spinning with all the amazing information he gave us. I’m positive that this years education will be eventful and inspiring. Please remember if you have a Facebook, add our education page. Simply search Newport Mesa Education. I will keep the page current with our upcoming speakers. Please if you could, when the new speakers digi-tal flyer is posted, "share” the event to your wall. It will help get the word out. In February we also look forward to our Sweetheart Luncheon. Our Brother Secretary has sent out a flyer via email reminding us and informing us that tickets are available. Let us show our lodge ladies and widows a great time. I’ll leave you with a quote from a famous freemason Benjamin Franklin. Ponder, contemplate, or meditate on it if you wish. “Masonic Labor is purely a labor of love. He who seeks to draw Masonic Wages in gold and silver will be disappointed. The wages of a Mason are the dealings with one another; sympathy begets sympathy, kindness begets kindness, helpfulness begets helpfulness, and these are the wages of a Mason.” Fraternally, R. Diego Verduzco Junior Warden
