PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT REVIEW All staff, other than casual staff, are required to participate in a Professional Development Review (PDR) to provide staff with a clear understanding of their role, priorities and goals. This should be carried out within the first two months as part of the induction process with regular feedback and a formal discussion once a year. For Professional staff, their immediate supervisor will be responsible for conducting the review and for academic staff the review will normally be conducted by the Head of School or Chair of Discipline. For more information please visit the following website: http://www.hr.uwa.edu.au/policy/toc/performance_management_of_staff/professional_development_review TO ACCESS EMPLOYEE SELF SERVICE (ESS) www.hr.uwa.edu.au/ess Click on “Log on to the ESS” Type in your eight (8) digit staff number in the “Staff Number” box and your password Click “OK” Your initial password is based on your date of birth using the format ddmmyy (which should be padded within zeros where applicable). The database can be viewed at: http://research.publishing.uwa.edu.au/ . Staff are invited to publish information about their research and publications through this facility. Publications are collected throughout the year and audited annually by UWA Publications Audit Subcommittees, the office of the (State) Auditor General and auditors acting on behalf of the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations. You will receive an email on the first Friday of each month asking you to forward your publications including:
A hard copy or PDF of the publication (with a UWA by-line) The UWA Research category (a list of categories will be attached to the email) Field of Research code (a list will be attached to the email) Proof of Refereeing – this is a printout from the Ulrich’s website.

Hollywood After Hours Clinic Monash Avenue Nedlands Ph: 9346 6191 Local Walks Kings Park Kings Park and Botanic Gardens is an area of 400 hectares which contains 270 hectares of natural bushland, one of the larges areas of original bushland as close to a city centre anywhere in the world. The park borders the northern (rear) side of the UWA colleges along Park Avenue. There are extensive walking tracks through the bushland of Kings Park and a variety of recreation areas. The Mt Eliza lookout at the eastern end gives an excellent view of the Swan River and city centre. Matilda Bay, Pelican Point and Nedlands Foreshore Matilda Bay is the part of the Swan River located directly south from St Georges College. A path leads south around the bay, past Matilda Bay tearooms and the Royal Perth Yacht Club to Pelican Point. Dolphins are often seen in this area. Pelican point is a popular windsurfing spot and kite flyers can be seen on Nedlands foreshore taking advantage of the afternoon seabreeze. UWA Main Campus The main campus of UWA offers picturesque landscaped gardens. The sunken gardens, tropical grove and the great court are beautiful places to sit and soak up the sunshine or to enjoy a moment of quiet contemplation.
