100TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION OF PANDIT DEEN DAYAL

UPADHYAYA AT GEOLOGICAL SURVEY OF INDIA, CENTRAL REGION,

NAGPUR

A programme has been organized to observe the 100th Birth Anniversary of

Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya at GSI, Central Region, Nagpur, during the period

between 11.09.2017 and 25.09.2017, under the kind guidance of Shri S.N.

Meshram, Additional Director General & HOD, GSI, CR, Nagpur.

As a part of the celebration, various programmes and events have been

conducted. On 11.09.2017, Essay Competitions – Topic: Relevance of Antyodaya

in Modern Day India (for officers) and Contribution of Pandit Deendayal

Upadhyaya towards the socio-economy for the upliftment of India (for staff);

and on 12.09.2017 a competition for officers and staff on the topic : How to

eliminate inequality and thereby make every citizen an integral part of the

nation in the light of ideals of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya were held.

On 21.09.2017, a programme was organized and Shri Ratnesh Prasad, Assistant Director (P&A), GSI, CR, Nagpur welcomed the ADG & HOD, Shri S.N. Meshram & Guest of the function Dr. Kumar Shastri. Shri S.N. Meshram, Additional Director General & HOD, GSI, CR, Nagpur, garlanded the portrait of Pandit

Deendayal Upadhyaya, followed by representatives from the various service

associations. Shri S.N. Meshram, Additional Director General & HOD, GSI, CR,

Nagpur, also presented a Power Point Presentation on the life of Pandit Deendayal

Upadhyaya and spoke about the struggle and achievements of Pandit

Deendayal Upadhyaya. A talk by Dr. Kumar Shastri, a renowned speaker and

thinker, Retired Principal, S.K. Porwal College, Kamptee was organized. He very elaborately informed the gathering about the life, struggle, and the work done by

Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya for socio-economic cause to eliminate inequality and

for the upliftment of poor. Prize distribution for winners of the above competition was also held. Shri Prem Babu, Director(G), PSS Division, GSI, CR, Nagpur, extended vote of thanks.

On 25.09.2017, a concluding function to observe the 100th Birth Anniversary

of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya was held under chairmanship of Shri B.K.

Bhandaru, Dy. Director General, RMH-IV. An exhibition on the life of Pandit

Deendayal Upadhyaya was inaugurated by Shri B.K. Bhandaru, Dy. Director

General, RMH-IV. The programme ended with patriotic song Vande Mataram.
