Lifecore Biomedical introduces STAGE-1cement-on crown abutment and Quick-Capimpressioning system
In the new STAGE-1 cement-on crown abutment system, com-ponents are color-coded by size so that the abutment try-in can bematched easily with the corresponding abutment, Quick-Cap im-pression cap, and laboratory analog. The Quick-Cap impressionsystem (Fig. 1) eliminates the need to pack retraction cord. Theimpression cap aligns with the abutment flat and reliably transfersthe 3-dimensional positioning of the abutment to the laboratory. TheQuick-Cap’s closed, 1-piece design simplifies intraoral placementand eliminates the need for additional parts, such as positioningcylinders, as well as the need for meticulous syringing of impressionmaterial around the abutment.

Macan Engineering and ManufacturingCompany introduces Ultra-Flex bendableelectrodes for oral surgery
Macan’s new Ultra-Flex electrodes (Fig. 2) can be bent easilywith finger pressure at any portion of the insulated shaft. Eachelectrode can be bent repeatedly and retain its new shape each time. These characteristics allow the clinician to work safely in hard-to-reach lingual and posterior areas of the mouth. Because the Ultra-Flex electrodes can be bent to any angle, clinicians may find thatthey need to purchase fewer electrodes than would be necessary ifstandard, rigid electrodes were used.
