This academy provides students with career and college opportunities in the field of law. A combination of articulation agreements and dual enrollments means that students will earn college credits for most academy courses. Numerous higher education opportunities are available in law, including public administration, political studies, and law school.
GEORGE JENKINS
The Academy of Engineering is the joint effort of GJHS, Polk State College, and the business community to give relevant and comprehensive training regarding the field of Engineering and Manufacturing. Students that complete the Academy classes and pass the MSSC certification exam will receive college credit at Polk State College.

Students are provided the opportunity to master culinary fundamentals in taste, presentation, and cooking techniques. Learners gain skills in the kitchen and explore all aspects of cost control, safety and sanitation, nutrition, and kitchen management. Real-world experiences are gained in a school based restaurant/catering setting.

Band: Dream Maker Marching Band participates at football games, parades, marching festivals and other community events. Jazz Band is an extra-curricular ensemble that focuses on the study of contemporary music styles and techniques. “Dream Catcher” Visual Ensemble is the visual component of the instrumental music program. During the fall term, it performs with the “Dream Maker” Marching Band. During the spring term, the ensemble performs alone to recorded music.
Chorus: The Performing Arts Department at George Jenkins High School includes a variety of programs and activities, each with a different focus and different responsibilities/expectations.
