Rio Rancho,NM “The City of Vision” is located on the southern border of Sandoval County. Sandoval County is the State of New Mexico’s second most populous and fastest growing county. The City of Rio Rancho comprises over 100 square miles of land and is just 35 minutes from the Albuquerque International Sunport and 45 minutes from Santa Fe, NM. The public school district is considered among the best in the state with state-of-the-art schools that focus on technology-related programs serving 17,000 students. A second high school has been built on a 150-acre campus east of the City’s Central Business District. In addition the University of New Mexico (UNM) and Central NM Community College (CNM) have both constructed new west side campuses in the Rio Rancho City Center.

AMENITIES

Rio Rancho has many emerging retail corridors. Retail establishments include a Smith’s Grocery, Walgreens, Premiere Cinemas, Chili’s, Five Guys Burgers, Dion’s Pizza, Chick-fil-A, and wide variety of other dining and shopping venues. New retail developments are in the planning stages or are under development along Unser between Rust Presbyterian Hospital and the Rio Rancho City Center.

EMPLOYMENT

The Rio Rancho City Center, is home to many large employers, including Hewlett Packard, The University of New Mexico Hospital, The University of New Mexico Rio Rancho Campus, and CNM Community College. In addition, Rio Rancho has a attracted many large medical companies including Presbyterian Healthcare, UNM Hospitals, and After Hours Pediatrics to name just a few. The new Rust Presbyterian Hospital now has more than 1,000 full-time employees and a payroll of nearly $100 million. The second expansion at Rust, a 100,000 square foot physician clinic, will break ground in late 2016 and further expand the area’s highly paid medical workforce. Other medical plazas planned or opening along Unser include Rio at Rust, Springer Plaza, and Petroglyph Medical Plaza.
