A travellers taleIn 1993, an Italian journalist decided not

to travel by plane for a whole year. He

worked for a big newspaper and he

travelled all around the world to do his job,

but for a year he didnt go by plane. He

travelled by bus, by train, by boat and by

    car sometimes even by bike.

He lived in Thailand, and every year he

went home to Italy to see his mother. In

1993, it took him a very long time. He

travelled to China by bus and train and

then he started the long journey across

Russia. When he arrived in Warsaw after

two weeks on the train, he knew it was

not far now! He was back in Europe.

His friends thought it was crazy but he

enjoyed his year without planes. He saw

lots of places and met lots of people. He

remembered how big the world is.
