Agriculture WILL Change
4
Climate Smart Agriculture
N-Fix® is an environmentally friendly seed coating which increases crop yields - contributes to healthier food
Climate smart agriculture needs natural nitrogen fixation - farming practices must be more adaptive to environmental pressures
Our VisionThe nitrogen industry is worth approx. $110bn annually. We're going to revolutionise this industry. We're going to change the way that people grow food. What we have created will affect every single person on the planet now AND our future generations. We have created the single most important breakthrough in agriculture in the last 100 years. Our science will change the world.

Azotic Technologies – Disruptive Technology
A global solution to improve crop performance and help reduce nitrogen pollution
Reduces Nitrogen fertiliserneed thereby drastically reducing farming costs
Will improve the qualityof water, soil and the
atmosphere
Sustainable nitrogen to transform agriculture
Rice & corn field trials have shown positive
yield increases
Azotic is an intellectual company with a commercial road map – a BioScience/Life Science - Cleantech sector company, focusing on social farming and the agronomic future
Nitrogen-fixing Bacteria
Intra-cellular colonisation of a nitrogen fixing bacteria - an unprecedented opportunity!
A published patent and a subsequent 2006 scientific publication described the impact of the genomic and enzymatic traits of a unique strain of Gluconacetobacter diazotrophicus (Gd)
Gd is a dose dependent delivery system, it uses the root meristematic cell target sites and its potential generic use for global crops
Provenance of approach and technology based on:Ø Father of Green Revolution Nobel Peace Prize - Norman BorlaugØ Founding Father of Modern Plant Biotechnology - Prof Ted Cocking FRS
N-Fix® Technology
8
Is the only proven technology that enablesall crop species to fix nitrogen directly from air
Naturally occurring, Nitrogen fixing bacteria from sugarcane - takes up and uses Nitrogen from the air
An “extraordinary” endophytic, diazotophic, acid tolerant bacteria – promotes Indole Acetic Acid (IAA) which promotes plant growth
Gd is a harmless bacteria, contains no toxins and is neither genetic modification (GM) nor bio-engineering
Applied to the cells of plants via the seed - provides every cell in the plant with the ability to fix Nitrogen
Enables naturally sustainable farming without nitrogen pollution
In intracellular state the bacteria forms a symbiosome within the plant cell
N-Fix® - How it works

N-Fix® Pathway
Benefit – Preloaded seeds with Nitrogen – the power behind crop nutrition and health

Patents
Know-how
DescriptionØ Azotic has been exclusively licensed for certain patents owned
by the University of Nottingham. These relate to the activity of GD in plants and the mode-of-action with regard to the entry
Ø Azotic has also filed and been awarded a number of subsequent patents
Ø These relate to follow-on discoveries of GD or niche market applications, such as the method of inoculation
Ø Azotic has significant, non-patent, know-how that contributes tothe success of the company
Ø Among this, is information obtained through research (what was tried and did not work, lab setup and manufacturing processes), technical trade secrets, and invention disclosures not-yet-filedin patent applications
Ø Azotic has gathered a significant amount of data on the bacteriaand possible supporting agents which would need a considerable time to replicate
The company has investigated any patents that might restrict freedom-to-operate
Though there are several patents that relate to the application of GD for agricultural uses, they do not see any infringement in their freedom-to-operate

Field Trial Results

Corn trial carried out in Dana, Iowa showed that N-Fix-treated plots increased yield by 50% (2.7 t/ha) when no fertiliser N was applied and 15% (1.6 t/ha) when the full recommend fertiliser N was applied.
Soybean trial in Dana, Iowa showed highly significantly yield increases in N-Fix® treatment compared to control at two N levels - 29% (840 kg/ha) at 0 N and 8.4% (300 kg/ha) at 100 N (2017).
Four spring wheat trials in the UK, Germany and the US showed that overall N-Fix® increased yield by 7% (460 kg/ha) and also demonstrated a potential to N-fertiliser savings of up to 61% with no reduction in yield.
In three Vietnamese rice trials the overall response was a mean average 20% (825 kg/ha) yield increase across all the field trials (2017).
Two rice trials were carried in Thailand and two in the Philippines. Overall on the N-Fix treated plots yields were significantly higher than the untreated at every fertiliser N level tested - the N-Fix treated plots yielded 17% (645 kg/ha) more than the untreated, with a 1 t/ha (29%) increase being seen at 50% of the recommended fertiliser N (2018).
