THE PROPOSED PROJECT ACCIONA Energy Canada Global Inc. (ACCIONA) is proposing to construct and operate a clean and efficient power generation facility to help address Alberta’s ongoing need for renewable energy. The project, which represents less than 1% of Alberta’s total generating capacity, is located south and west of New Dayton and east of the Milk River Ridge Reservoir. ACCIONA has secured options to lease up to 16,000 acres of private, cultivated land to accommodate the construction and operation of the Project. ABOUT ACCIONA A GLOBAL LEADER IN RENEWABLE ENERGY

ACCIONA Energy Canada Global Inc. is a subsidiary of ACCIONA Group, one of the world’s leading renewable energy operators. ACCIONA Group produces emission-free clean energy for more than six million homes across the planet. ACCIONA Group affiliates have been supplying clean energy to Albertans since 2004 through our wind power projects in Southern Alberta.

ACCIONA Group is committed to innovation that makes renewable energy more efficient and affordable and we work to advance technologies related to the design, maintenance and operation of wind farms and other renewable technologies.

We have more than 20 years’ experience across all aspects of wind power, including developing, constructing and operating wind farms.

ACCIONA Group is a leader in providing sustainable solutions for renewable energy and infrastructure projects with a presence in more than 40 countries on five continents.

For more information about ACCIONA Group and our experience, values and commitment to sustainability and innovation, please visit www.acciona.ca.

PUBLIC INVOLVEMENT ACCIONA believes every renewable energy project is the beginning of a lasting partnership with the local community. We strive to be a good neighbour to the communities in which we work.

As part of our consultation activities, we work closely with community members to identify areas of interest and concern, and will seek to design our project in a way that is respectful to the needs of the community.

The New Dayton Wind Power Project is currently in the planning phase and we are committed to open communication and dialogue, which we believe will result in a thoroughly informed view of our project and ultimately a development that reflects the values of the community.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND BENEFITSACCIONA values the long-term benefits of working with the local community. If the New Dayton Wind Power Project is approved, the local community will benefit from the following:

• Increased local spending during the development, construction and operations phases of the Project

• A new source of tax revenues throughout the life of the Project

• A community benefit fund that will make annual donations throughout the life of the project to support local initiatives such as education and community services

• Potential employment opportunities for project construction and operations

• Potential contract opportunities for local businesses

PROJECT TIMELINE

KEY PROJECT UPDATES As a result of stakeholder feedback and further technical evaluations, ACCIONA has updated the following key details about the Project:

TURBINE LOCATIONS

• A number of turbine locations were modified as a result of stakeholder feedback and other siting constraints such as land use, setbacks from wildlife and sound considerations..

• Two additional turbine locations were added after adjusting the project layout to accommodate the above considerations, and to ensure that the overall project capacity remains the same.

ACCESS ROADS AND ELECTRICAL COLLECTION SYSTEM

• Access roads and the collection system have been designed to accommodate environmental considerations and regulatory criteria

SOUND

• All energy projects in Alberta must complete a Noise Impact Assessment and meet the requirements of Alberta Utilities Commission Rule 012: Noise Control. The map included in this package shows the results of our preliminary noise assessment for both daytime and nighttime sound levels .

SHADOW FLICKER ASSESSMENT

• Shadow flicker is a term used to describe the effect of shadows cast by the turbine blades as they rotate. The value is expressed as the number of hours per year that a location may be affected and does not include any reduction effect from nearby trees, structures or features of a residence.

• In this package, we have provided a map that shows the maximum number of hours per year that a residence may experience shadow flicker.

ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES

ACCIONA is currently completing the required environmental and wildlife studies for the Project. Throughout the development of the Project, we have worked closely with Alberta Environment and Parks (AEP) to ensure that any environmental sensitivities are addressed.

To date we have completed a majority of the studies including:

• Wildlife - birds, bats and other wildlife

• Wetlands - mapping and classification

• Historical Resources- archaeological and cultural features

CONSTRUCTION

• ACCIONA has had discussions with the County of Warner regarding the use of county roads and continues to assess transportation and construction planning to minimize potential impacts such as dust, noise and increased traffic during construction.

VISUAL SIMULATIONS

• Included in this package, we have provided 4 visual simulations to show you what the proposed project will look like when constructed.

UPDATE ON INTERCONNECTIONElectricity generated by the Project will be gathered at 34.5 kilovolts (kV) by an underground collection system and delivered to the Project substation which is proposed to be located on the NE quarter of Section 15 Township 5 W4M.

Electricity will be stepped up to 138 kV at the Project substation for delivery into Alberta’s electric grid at the Stirling Substation, located east of the Village of Stirling on the NW quarter of Section 27 Township 6 W4M.

The electrical transmission line between the Stirling substation and the Project substation is a separate project that will be the responsibility of AltaLink Management Limited, who has the obligation to consult with stakeholders on potential routing.

UPDATE ON ALBERTA’S RENEWABLE ELECTRICITY PROGRAMAlberta is advancing the province’s mix of electric generation to include a large portion of renewable energy – including wind and solar.

In March 2017, the Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) launched the Renewable Energy Program (REP) – a competitive procurement program intended to encourage the development of 5,000 MW by 2030.

The REP will administer a series of competitions, with the first round currently underway.
