BMT 2020  Instructions for submitting Power Round and Problem Disputes 

Overview 

We are going to be using a platform called Gradescope to grade power round 

submissions. Gradescope lets you easily submit your pdf and allows us to quickly assign 

pages to graders. This document is going to go over setting up your Gradescope account 

and submitting the pdf with your solutions.

Submission Instructions (Without Pictures) 

Submitting Part 1: Google Form 

Along with submitting your power round on Gradescope, we will have a Google Form to 

collect registration information and to have a backup of your power round in case 

something goes wrong.  

You must submit on both the form and on Gradescope for you submission to count!

Submitting Part 2: Setting up your Gradescope Account (Without Pictures) 

This will walk you through setting up the Gradescope account. You only need one 

account per team. 

1. Go to gradescope.com 

2. Click the Sign Up box in the top right. 

3. Under Sign Up As… click Student. 4. Fill out your Team’s information. 

a. The Course Entry Code is MY4N3X 

b. Under Name write your team name. 

c. Under Email write one of the team members email. This team member is 

responsible for the submission of the power round. 

d. Under Student ID write your Team ID. 

5. Go to your email and click on the set your password link. This will redirect to 

Gradescope’s main dashboard. 

6. After you create a password you will be logged in to Gradescope and you should 

see BMT 2020 under Your Courses. 

 

Submitting Part 3: Uploading your solutions (Without Pictures) 7. Log in to your Gradescope account and click on BMT 2020 under Your Courses. 8. Click on the assignment BMT 2020 Power Round 

9. This will give you an option to submit images or a PDF. We are only accepting PDF 

submissions for this power round. Click on Submit PDF and select your solutions 

to the power round. 

10. Assign each problem a corresponding page(s). This is done by clicking on the 

problem and then clicking on the page(s) it is associated with. Please keep each 

problem subpart to a separate page. 

11. Failure to assign problems to pages correctly can result in reduced points. 

12. Gradescope will notify you if you forgot to assign any problems and/or pages. 

13. Upon successful submission you will receive an email notifying you of your 

submission and a message on your screen indicating success. 

14. Once scores are released you will be able to see the breakdown of each question 

through gradescope.

Problem Disputes

Regrade Requests 

Gradescope has features built in for problem disputes. We will finish grading the power 

round by Friday October 2nd. From then on, you will have 24 hours to complete 

regrade requests for problems. You will be notified by email once the grading has 

completed and the email will include a link to the solutions to the round.  

Upon review of the solutions, if you find that there are errors in the grading, you may 

submit a Regrade Request. This guide will walk you through how to do such a thing. 

Note: BMT reserves the right to decrease your score if a regrade request is made that 

reveals a deeper misunderstanding than the grader originally thought.  

Submitting Regrade Requests (Without Pictures) 1. Once scores are released, you will be able to see a breakdown of the score you got 

on the test. Clicking on each question will open up a detailed view of our rubric 

and where you may have lost points. 

2. After reviewing the solutions, if you think there is a mistake with your grade, you 

can submit a regrade request. 

3. Click on the question you want to regrade and write an explanation for the 

grader. Please be as clear and concise as possible. (You can use LaTeX in your 

answer by surrounding text with `$$`.) 

4. Once you click submit, you will receive an email and be able to see your request 

on the platform. 

5. You will receive another email once the regrade request has been reviewed. 

Remember, your score could increase or decrease.
