    Chairman ViewsShah Zaman Foundation

(SZF) was formally set up in

    July 2006. However, SZF

    awarded its first scholarship

    in April 2000. In other

    words SZF was active in

    practice much before it

    existed on paper.

When we started in the year

    2000 our objective was to

    assist under privileged

bright students to acquirequality high education. Roughly a 100 scholars and ten years later it

remains the same. However, we have expanded our efforts to

include women's health, in the hope that healthy mothers will foster

    healthy kids.

To date SZF has assisted and is in the process of assisting over a 100

students. It is not a big number. But it is bigger than zero and that is

    what counts with us.

Graduates of SZF scholarship program are today productive citizens

of Pakistan, working for organizations like National Bank of

Pakistan, ABB, Nestle, AJK University and Quilliam Foundation in UK

after completing their MBA, BSc Electrical Engineering, Masters in

Food Technology, and Masters in Anthropology respectively.

These and other graduates in turn are financing other SZF scholars.Scholars have become donors. This is a welcome recent

development and gives us hope that SZF scholar numbers will

increase over time. We pray that irrespective of their numbers, ourscholars lead an honorable life of significance giving back to society

    gracefully and with humility
