For example, over 70% of patients with Migraine headaches have other neurotransmitter dysfunction problems present at the same time. Simply treating a neurotransmitter disease will not fully benefit the patient unless proper evaluation is done to diagnose and treat all the problems that are present. To this end, seminar educational materials have been refined over the years in training clinics, programs, and caregivers. So how do we know that obesity is an illness driven by neurotransmitter dysfunction? The only way to lose weight is to eat less food and the only drugs in medicine that affect the appetite and allow the patient to eat less food are drugs that work with norepinephrine and/or serotonin. Drugs that redistribute neurotransmitters from one place to another can make the neurotransmitter problem worse. Whereas amino acids, when used properly, do not cause problems like drugs. The treatment of obesity is the most difficult neurotransmitter disease there is to treat. In covering the treatment of obesity at the seminar, even those caregivers who are not interested in treating obesity will gain a greater insight into treating other neurotransmitter diseases and illnesses. THE PROBLEM: OTHER FINDINGS OF OUR WORK:

    THE SOLUTION:

Amino acid therapy and neurotransmitter laboratory testing in support of amino acid therapy are covered under U.S. Patents

    6,384,088, 6,403,657, and 6,548,551 and patents pending.

    NEUROTRANSMITTER LABORATORY TESTING:

    ,

    al

For years people lookedat amino acid therapy and thought somethingwas there. For example, in using 5-hydroxtrypto-phan (5-HTP) alone, 10 to 15% of patients wouldget good results, another 10 to 15% would getsome results but about 2/3 of patients wouldreceive no results. The problem, they were notusing multiple amino acids in proper ratios (balance) and dosing levels with other aminoacids. This has not been done in the past butNeuroResearch has solved this problem.

Through lab testing we discovered that use of unopposed 5-

HTP can cause depletion of other neurotransmitters to include but not

limited to dopamine, norepinephrine, and epinephrine. Further, use of unopposed

catecholamine precursors such as L-tyrosine can cause depletion of serotonin

making the problem of low levels of some of the neurotransmitters worse.

Our work has solved this problem through balanced amino acids therapy.

NeuroResearch work is about, “ Optimizing groupoutcomes with amino acid therapy ”. A concept that we have been issued threepatents on plus we have several patents pending. From appetite suppression, torefractory depression, migraine headaches, hormone imbalance, neurotransmit-ter drugs that do not work or quit working in treatment, etc., the proper use of balanced amino acids in therapy will allow 90 to 95% of patients to experience relief of symptoms without drug side effects.

For severalyears the methods developed in Europe to measure neurotransmitter levels thatcompensated for dilution factors and other problems of testing have been available, but these methods were not calibrated or applied to clinical practice. In 2001,NeuroResearch with its large database and over 1,000 patients from approximately50 clinics was able to calibrate urinary neurotransmitter testing for use in thetreatment of patients. During this process, we found that neurotransmitter testingwas of little value in patients at initiation of treatment for various reasons which wediscuss at our seminars. But lab testing is of great value in establishing pinpointtherapeutic neurotransmitter levels during treatment and insures patients’neurotransmitter status remains optimal in long term treatment. There arenumerous advantages to the neurotransmitter lab testing. In patients who aretaking higher doses of amino acids, testing establishes the need to increasedosing further without the fear of overloading the system with amino acids orneurotransmitters. NeuroResearch has patents pending on laboratory testing ofneurotransmitters as used in clinical applications. Neurotransmitter testing inclinical applications is taught in depth at every seminar.

Since 2000, NeuroResearch has beenworking in the area of treatment of Parkinsonism. Proper useof amino acids as guided by neurotransmitter lab testing hasproven to have excellent results in preventing tachyphylaxisassociated with long-term use of Parkinson drugs as well aslowering the incidence of side effects associated withParkinson therapy.

DRUGS THAT WORK WITH NEUROTRANSMITTERS DO NOT WORK IFTHERE ARE NOT ENOUGH NEUROTRANSMITTERS TO WORK WITH.
