Nemarluk School Newsletter
Dear families,
Term 3 is nearly ‘done’ and it has been a challenge some days
with many staff members sick as well as students sick. Please
consider keeping your child at home if they are not well. Viruses
and other shared illness spread very quickly in a school.
In our school this can have disastrous effects on some medically
fragile students.
One of our longest serving staff members is taking a long break from work to
do her most important job now—take care of her health. We will miss
Elaine Gould’s wisdom, skills to work with the most challenging children and
humour. We will keep close tabs on her and continue to share our smiles.
Michele Copland is heading back to Victoria after a term helping us fill a staff
vacancy. Michele’s knowledge and experience has been gratefully valued.
Thank you—best wishes for your continued retirement! Until next time!

Nadia and Emily from Ludmilla 1 helped staff out at the Disability Awareness Week BBQ at the Deckchair Cinema. The girls served up sausages, chicken satays and veggie burgers and helped raise $270.00 for Nemarluk School!! They also stayed and watched the movie “Soul Surfer”.
Thank you to all who supported the F a t h e r ’ s Day Raffle with donations and the purchase of tickets - as well all the great ticket sellers!! The winner of the first prize hamper was one of our wonderful SESOs, Gabby Woodward.
A total of $621.00 was raised by the raffle and this will go towards the running of the 3 Nemarluk buses, which are so valuable for our community access programs. This includes transition programs, shopping, sporting events and other excursions.
Get ready now, as we plan our huge Christmas Raffle. We would appreciate your support with donations for this also. Please start sending in items for the raffle in November, as tickets will need to go out in November as well. The raffle will be drawn on the last day of school - Thursday 12th December.
