*** PTS Updated: PRD Process *** Perform To Serve continues to evolve and change, please read this new PTS NAVADMIN attachment. To gist this new NAVADMIN 021/13 : 1. PRD PTS is now fully enforced. Special Circumstances (SC) PTS is the new category to distinguished from the regular EAOS PTS. Sailors must submit a PTS application 12-15 months prior to their PRD. 2. A monthly Denied Letter will no longer be sent to the member but will continue to be monitored and pass to the member. 3. Detailer can waive the PRD-PTS requirement if there is enough EAOS to complete the next tour. One thing has not changed but NEEDS to be reinforced: Career Development Board (involvement of all Sailor's Chain of Command) that must be held 15-12 month prior to PRD/SEAOS so that no "grey area' is left. PTS is not a 1 time process - it is at least 6 monthly applications to compete with others to Stay Navy. To reemphasize the previous PTS NAVADMIN / numerous instructions & importance of everyone's involvement in helping out career counselors and Sailors: 1. Conduct a CDB - 3 at a minimum during PTS cycle: - Initial application (12 month prior to PRD/EAOS) - 3rd or 4th Denial (8th month) - 5th or 6th Denial (6th month) Always use FLEET RIDE & CIMS CDB Profile to direct member on their career choices. 2. On conversion option: there are very limited choices or rating and it changes every day, so do not impose conversion until member is qualified and ECM contacted prior. 3. Member must submit & document PTS application via FleetRIDE/CCC EVERY MONTH until it is APPROVE - Member must sit down with CCC between the 15th-30th of every month application is open - CCC & Sailors only have less than 15 days to apply for PTS. - CCC & Sailors CANNOT apply between the first 2 weeks of every month -Update major career progression / changes (PRT, Advancement, Eval, Security Clearance) 4. CCC / LCPO must communicate with individual Enlisted Community Manager and Detailer - Prior to applying for conversion of the next rate. -Must communicate with current detailer wrt PTS requirement. Some detailer may just need a reminder that their PTS application is for PRD purposes only and may waive the application. -Some may think that this either further improves &/or complicates the PTS process & screening of member - so career counselors will need everyone's help and support. *** Navy Career Wise Crash Course #3: Perform To Serve *** Please view "10 Slides or Less" NCW Course on PTS Navy Career Wise PRINT Edition.
