    Duke (22-6) opens the first round of NCAA Team Championship action Friday, May 8, against South Carolina State (14-4) at 1 p.m. ET inside Am-bler Tennis Stadium.

    Duke, the No. 10 overall seed, re-ceived an at-large bid to the NCAA event while South Carolina State earned the Mid-Eastern Athletic Con-ferences automatic bid after going 5-0 in the MEAC during the regular season.

    In addition to South Carolina State, the Blue Devils also welcome Tennes-see (14-12) and Stanford (17-6) to the Durham Regional. Both the Volunteers and Cardinal received at-large bids to the NCAA Team Championship. The two will play at 10 a.m. Friday.

    The winners of the two Friday match-es will face each other Saturday at 1 p.m. Saturdays victor will advance to the NCAA round of 16 in Waco, Texas.

    The Blue Devil Network will video stream all three of this weekends matches at the Durham Regional. The video stream will be free.

    The Blue Devils have won their re-gional and advanced to the final 16 of the NCAA Team Championship in four of the last five years.

    Dukes Friday match against South Carolina State will be just the second meeting between the two programs. Duke claimed a 4-0 victory on May 13, 2005, at the NCAA Regional in Durham.

    Last May at the Durham Regional, the Blue Devils defeated Winthrop 4-0 before falling to Tennessee, 4-2.

    Duke enters NCAA postseason ac-tion with a 22-6 record. The 22 victo-ries are tied for the ninth most in a year in program history.

    The Blue Devils have reached the 20-win plateau for six consecutive seasons, the second longest streak in program history, behind only 10 such campaigns from 1992-2001.

    Duke owns a 14-0 record in home matches this season. The Blue Dev-ils have won 18 of their past 19 home matches.

    Duke has faced a challenging slate this year and owns 16 wins against ranked teams, tied for ninth on the programs single-season chart.

    This weekends Durham Regional will mark the final matches inside Ambler Tennis Stadium for Dukes Raphael Hemmeler, Chris Mengel, Bruno Semenzato and Jason Tahir. Hemmeler and Tahir are seniors, Men-gel a redshirt senior and Semenzato a junior who is exhausting his eligibility.

    In the last three years, Duke owns a 7-3 record (.700 winning percentage) in the month of May.

    On Feb. 6, Duke hosted Tennessee and recorded a 5-2 victory inside the Sheffield Tennis Center. The Blue Devils dropped the doubles point, but rebounded with five singles victories. The Volunteers lead the overall series 13-9.

    Duke has not faced Stanford since a 4-2 victory on Feb. 17, 2007. The Cardinal owns a 7-1 advantage in the all-time series.
