Welcome to

the LaSalle

Parishes! We especially welcome all visitors to Mass and pray that you will be blessed through your participation at our liturgy today. In the Catholic Church the reception of Holy Communion is a mark of formal union with the Church. Catholics who are disposed and who have prepared themselves through regular sacramental confession, prayer, and fasting are permitted to present themselves for Communion. We encourage our guests to use this time to make a spiritual communion in their heart and to join us in our prayers and hymns. Please feel free to ask questions before or after the Mass. We are glad to talk and pray with you!

Eucharistic Adoration Come and pray with the Lord throughout the day. Please consider also committing to an hour of prayer as a scheduled adorer. See the website for available hours.

IV Food Pantry: The LaSalle Parishes collect food for the Illinois Valley Food Pantry on the weekend of the first Sunday of each month. Some food is kept in the parish office for those who come to us for help. Food items most needed include the following: canned spaghetti, ravioli, soups, fruits, vegetables, granola bars, applesauce, gelatin cups, fruit juices, and cereal. Items that can be easily prepared and eaten by people without access to a full kitchen and added ingredients are very helpful. Paper grocery bags are also useful. Our next collection weekend is June 30July 1. Thank you for your continued support of our local families in need!

Dressing for Holy Mass

As the weather gets nicer, a friendly reminder to take the time to dress for Mass. While we don’t dress to impress our neighbors, clothes say something about what we think and what we value. That our culture has become so casual about everything says something about us. Sometimes it seems to say, “Nothing is really all that important.” But that is not true. Going to God’s house is important. Being ministered to by the King of Kings and Lord of Lords is astounding. Casual or sloppy attire in these circumstances is simply inappropriate if we really think about what we are doing, where we are going and Who it is we will meet. It does not necessarily follow that we must wear tuxedos and formal gowns. But dignified and modest attire seems wholly appropriate. Sunday is special; God’s House is special. Some things really are important, and our clothing and demeanor reflect this truth.

ADA Update

Thank you to those who have already responded with your gift or pledges to the Annual Diocesan Appeal! St. Hyacinth is at 54% of its goal in donations and pledges, and St. Patrick is at 91%. We must reach those goals or be responsible for the remainder that does not come in through pledges. If we exceed our goal, all monies over that amount will be returned to our parishes! Please consider a onetime gift or a monthly pledge for 6 months. We need everyone’s help to reach our goal! Giving to the Annual Appeal is the best way financially to support our parishes. Some parishioners have indicated they did not receive their ADA letter in the mail. Please note there are envelopes for giving to the ADA in the back of the churchor just write “ADA” on a blank envelope.
