It had everything we were looking for and you actually get married under the winners’ podium which was really quirky! The North East Wedding Show is delighted to announce a 17% increase in attendance since spring 2014, with an impressive 3,889 in attendance over the two day show.

The North East Wedding Show opened with a traditional ‘cutting of the ribbon’ by Miss Newcastle GB, Nicole Bailey, who modelled a stunning Allure Bridals fi t and fl are gown from First Glance. Nicole then joined the fi rst 500 visitors for a glass of bubbly to toast to the opening of the show.

Brides, grooms and their wedding parties were able to spend their day browsing everything from beautiful wedding dresses and decadent cakes to fabulous gift lists and luxury honeymoons from over 100 exhibitors.

The fi rst Catwalk of the day was led by Miss Newcastle GB, taking centre stage in her sparkling Allure Bridals gown. Breathtaking designs by Berketex Bride, Accent Original Bridal House, Tonia Ann Bridal, Kathryn

Russell, Mao Couture and Alfred Angelo were also seen on the Catwalk alongside Joel Alexander who provided beautiful bespoke head pieces to complement each look as well as mother of the bride outifts and occasionwear. Gavin Scott Menswear, Moss Bros, Young’s Formal Hire and Slaters Menswear presented suave suits to fi nish off each look.

The UK’s no.1 bridal coach, Michele Paradise took to the stage inbetween the Catwalk Shows to share her invaluable advice on everything from how to walk in fabulous shoes to perfecting your pose for photographs as well as choosing the best dress for your body shape and improving your posture with her revolutionary Posture Wand.

Former Pop Idol fi nalist Aaron Bayley and his band also appeared on stage three times a day to entertain the crowds with their incredible renditions of everyone’s all-time favourite hits.

Looking firstly at destinations, MarryAbroad found Greece claimed the top spot, as most-searched country in which to wed, followed closely by Spain and then Italy.In terms of planning an overseas wedding, 50% view the MarryAbroad site from desktop, 31% from their mobiles and 19% from a tablet.

Site Founder, Charlotte Hand states: “We weren't surprised to see our top 10 countries in 2015 being primarily European, as they're the easiest countries to get to from the UK, and are excellent for a weekend wedding, although Florida and Canada appearing in the list do show that our visitors are also interested in getting married further afield.
