National Seminar on “Speech and Swallowing Rehabilitation in Head

and Neck Cancer”

The All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH), an autonomous institution

fully funded and functioning under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government

of India, has been serving persons with communication disorders for the last 5 decades. The

major objectives of the institute include manpower generation, providing clinical services to

persons with communication disorders, and conducting research in the core areas as well as

allied health sciences.

Survivors of Head and Neck Cancer (HNC) are a common group seeking services of

Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) for rehabilitation of their swallowing and

communication issues. In this regard, the Department of Speech-Language Pathology is

conducting a National Seminar on “Speech and Swallowing Rehabilitation in Head and Neck

Cancer” on 16-17 November, 2017. This seminar is aimed at setting a multi-disciplinary

platform for professionals working towards rehabilitation of persons with Head and Neck

Cancer, specially the SLPs. The brochure of the event is enclosed herewith. The seminar is

open to speech-language pathologists.

Students/staff from different speech and hearing colleges and practicing SLP’s who

are interested in attending the seminar are invited. The registration fee (`.500.00/

participant) can be sent through DD in favour of “The Director” payable at Bank of Baroda,

AIISH, Mysore along with the filled registration form. Last date for registration is 10.11.2017

(Total of 100 participants on ‘first come first serve basis’ would be included).
