National Informatics Centre is the premier Government Organization in the

field of Information Technology. In Gadchiroli District, NIC's District Informatics was setup in

the year 1988 and is located in Collectorate Building. The District Centre has played major role in

spreading Informatics Culture among the Govt. Offices, staff and people in this Tribal, Socially

handicapped and Industrially Undeveloped District by implementing various projects and

applications for Collectorate, ZillaParishad and other Government Offices, conducting Computer

Awareness Trainings Programs and providing high bandwidth NICNET Internet Connectivity to avail

E-mail, VC facility. The services offered by NIC’s District Informatics Centre are as follows ;

o Software implementation support to the District Administration and other

State Government Offices.

o Implementation of NIC Hq. and State Centre sponsored projects for the

district level government offices.

o NICNETbased State Wide Area Network for use of E-mail and Internet facility.

NIC District Centre, Gadchiroli is an attached office under the control of NIC Maharashtra State

Centre which is located at 11th Floor, New Administrative Building, Mantralaya, Mumbai and the

district activities are being carried out under the guidance of State Informatics Officer, NIC

Maharashtra State Centre, Mumbai.

C. Video Conference Support by NIC :-

NIC Gadchiroli has provided Video Conference Services to the District Administration. Recently, latest Video Conferencing System with Polycom Camera is installed at NIC Gadchiroli and started the VC services on this new system being extensively used for District Administration. D. Web Services:-

Maintenance of software of District Website and provided technical assistance to the District Administration for uploading of website content data regularly. E. Network & E-mail Services:-

1. NICNET services are provided to the following offices in the district.

2. Management of Local Area Network (LAN) at the Collector Office Gadchiroli.

3. Providing NICNET connectivity to all the sections of the Collectorate.

4. Forwarding of E-mail messages received from Mantralaya Mumbai to Collector Office, Zilla

Parishad and other concerned departments.

F. ICT Support Services:- 1. Technical support provided to Collector Office, District Planning Committee Office, Zilla Parishad etc.for purchase of Computer Systems, Printers and testing of hired systems. 2. Technical support provided for creation of Digital Signature Certificates.

3. Technical support provided to the Collector Office for evaluation of technical bids for

various tenders published by the department.

4. Technical support provided to Tahsil Offices for making their 7/12 data online and

submission of corrected 7/12 data CD to NIC Pune in time.

5. Technical support provided to the Collectorate for installation of LAN at Tahsil and SDO

offices.

6. Technical support provided to various Government Offices for adopting online

tendering procedure on site http://mahatenders.gov.in. 7. ICT workshops conducted for Polytechnic students and prisoners of district jail. 9. NIC’s NICNET Internet facility is made available for needy students, employees for

looking their results of different examinations and also helped many departments for

uploading of their data into the sites.

10. Technical support provided to various departments for sending their reports to

Mantralaya through email.

11. Technical support provided to DBAs for the implementation of e-Mahabhumi

project.

12. Co-ordination with HODs of various Govt. Departments for implementation of projects

sponsored by NIC Hq. and NIC-MHSC, Mumbai.

H. Important Events & Highlights :-

e-Disnic Workshop arranged for Revenue Officials

NIC Gadchiroli has successfully conducted various training programmes for implementation of

e-Disnic application for computerisation of revenue court cases being examined at District

Collectorate, SDO and Tahsil Offices.

Additional Collector addressing the participants in e-disnic workshop conducted at NIC Gadchiroli. DIO & other

officers were present during the session.

Workshop arranged for eFerfar & EDIT application for the Revenue Officials

NIC Gadchiroli has successfully conducted various training programmes for effective

implementation of e-ferfar application for taking online mutations.

NIC Gadchiroli has conducted training programmes for mapping of various developmental activities taken place in Naxal affected Gadchiroli district into the LWE GIS application for users from Health, Post, telecom, Schools, Land Records, Banks, Anganwadis etc.

The NIC centre has arranged training programmes on RTI online Demo site for the officials of

District Collectorate, Zilla Parishad, SP Office and Municipal Councils the effective

Cashless transactions awareness training programme arranged by NIC Gadchiroli

NIC Gadchiroli has conducted one day awareness programmes on cashless transcations for the officials of Municipal Councils as well as representatives of NGO's in Gadchiroli with the co-ordination of NYK Gadchiroli.
