National Cadet Corps (NCC):

wing & Naval Wing only) The Institute

offers training under the Army Wing and

Naval wing of the National Cadet Corps.

The Institute has a total number of 121

cadets with 100 boys and 21 girls. Parades

and theory classes are held during the

morning session on Saturdays and

Sundays.

The regular parades include training in

drill, map reading, weapon training,

obstacle etc. It also includes parades for

firing, social service and adventure.

The adventure activities are parasailing,

horse riding, rock clim

mountaineering, cycle expedition,

motorcycle expedition, trekking etc.

directly join the Def

officers. Preference is given to B & C

Seats, 6-7% of Post Graduation

seats are reserved for NCC cadets

in all Indian Universities.

• The Units prepare them for taking

up the higher NCC Certificate

Examinations. The Cadets are

given opportunities for attachment

with regular Army or Navy Units

(as the case may be) for

specialized training and actual

experience of field conditions.

NCC Cadets are also groomed for

assisting the administration in the

proper and orderly conduct of

special events and in relief work in

civic emergencies. The Units also

organized brief program on

Republic and Independence Day

Celebrations, and on special

occasions such as the NCC day, to

provide vignettes of the actual

field operations of the Defense

Forces.

Enrolment Drive :

• NCC Committee starts its

activities by the enrolment drive in

which cadets are recruited in the

first year batch for the B certificate

course. Physically fit candidates

are selected from a large no. of

willing candidates.

• A survey has been carried out at

Guma village adopted under the

Unnath Bharath Abhiyan by NCC

cadets.

Independence Day

NCC Cadets:

• Independence Day was celebrated

with usual nationalistic fervor and

enthusiasm on 15th

August 2017.

• The National Flag was hoisted and

unfurled by our honorable Director

Sir, NIT Raipur. This was

followed by 'Rashtriya Salute' and

a platoon of NCC cadets led by

SUO Shashikant Sahu smartly

marched past saluting the Chief

Guest and the National Flag.

Thal Sainik Camp by NCC Cadets, NIT

Raipur:

• From 01/07/18 to 10/07/18 a Thal

Sainik Camp Selection Camp(TSC

1) was held at Anjora, Durg

district, Chattisgarh. 10 cadets, 6

SD and 4 SW from 5 CG CT(I)

COY NCC Raipur attended this

camp and performed

praiseworthily. The events

organised in the camp are as

follows:-

Map Reading: • In map reading all of the 6 SD

boys were selected, from which 2

SD boys from Science College are

attending the next camp i.e. TSC 2,

the remaining 4 cadets couldn't go

further as their college has started.

Firing :

• All of the 10 cadets succesfully

fired 5 rounds of 0.22 mm sporting

rifle at a target situated at 15 m

distance. Cadet Bhojraj Sahu from

NIT Raipur gave an extraordinary

performance and got selected in

this event.

Obstacle Course :

• In which the obstacles includes 6-

feet wall, zigzag, double ditch,

balancing, 3-feet bar, left bar,
