    -To ensure effective cooperation between the Namibian Police and the public

    -To educate and inform the public on aspects relating to crime and policing

    -To educate and inform the police on aspects relating to crime and social life

    -To educate and assist the Government and the Namibian Police on the policyconcerning proper relations between the Police and the public

    -To facilitate active and positive involvement by the public in the prevention andcombating of crime

    How are you going about addressing theproblem?

    COMMUNITY MOBILISATION the municipality Council in collaboration withNamibian Police and Community leader and the entire stakeholder togethermobilize the community through workshop, capacity building educational awarenesscampaigns on Speak out and say no campaign was done in order to preventGender Base Violence in the Community.

    CAPACITY BUILDING: training of the Woman and Man on basic policing, how toidentify GVB and how to prevent criminal and how to share the information with themember of the family and community.

    APPLICATIONS SKILLS :Swakopmund Crime Stopper will be strategically placedin the towns crime hot-spot, being very visible in their bright orange and blueoveralls. And the campaign on THE SILENT ABUSER were by the focal pointisthe Domestic Workers tell their stories of abuse at the hands of their employers ,this campaign is start on 16 September 2011 till 07 October

    Who is the key target? Who is involved? What partnershipshave been developed? Are women and men equally involved? Are their

    concerns equally taken into consideration?

    Political support- Getting buys in from Ministry of Safety and Security,ministry of Labour and Social Welfare municipal Council, regional Councilorsand Community leader, there is equal participation among Woman and Man.

    EVIDENCE BASED With the establishment of Police Public relationsCommittee ( PPRC) which is consist of the member of Namibia Police,Member of the Community social group leaders , associations ,Businesspeople, Schools and Municipality representative make the group to know theneeds and the facts that needs to be work out for the effectiveness of theprogram.

    Creativity: How are arts, culture, popular culture,media and social media being used to mobilise and

    popularise the issue?

    PRIORITY: the Woman and Man Network will focus more on educationalawareness and create the safety community and work together with orstakeholder and communities.

    WHO: This campaign will be the Swakopmund Crime Stopper in collaborationwith Municipality of Swakopmund , Business Communities ,Community leadersand Political leaders with the Namibian Police.

    SPECIFIC INTERVENTIONS working with different stakeholder and communityleader, make us to identify the areas that we need to improve in order to preventdomestic violence in town.

    Monitoring and evaluation: How do you go about trackingprogress and taking corrective action where this is needed?

    MEASURING OF IMPACT: Police Crime Bulletin is the tools we use tomeasure the impact that there is decreasing in domestic violence andcriminal cases reported since the establishment of the SwakopmundCrime Stopper Woman and Man Network.

    The number of people that is joining the group is become increasing isalso indication that the group is become visible and the businesscommunity is showing interest by providing donation

    Results: What results have been achieved?

    The result is visible to extended that more young people has join the groupand more business community started to donated more this andcompanies is coming to recruit the young people from the group becausethe highly displined and their do need minimum supervision e.g. RossinngUranium make used of this young as security officer in their mine

    Impact: With reference to the 28 targets of the SADCProtocol on Gender and Development please say which ofthese targets your project is helping to achieve and how.

    This project is to achieve the objective of Articles 4-11 ( SADCprotocol on Gender and Development ) of constitutional and LegalRights

    By protecting Women against criminal and promote equality and

    educate the people about the danger of discrimination and encouragewoman participation in decision and law making .

    Resourcefulness: What financial, human and otherresources were mobilised? How are these being efficiently

    utilised?

    RESOURCES AVAILABLE: all the resources we used is fromdonation that we get from business Communities e.g. . Tables,Chairs Computer, Venue are provided by Namibian Police andOveralls is provided by the SwakopmundMunicipality.

    BUDGET NEEDED: the budget is needed for buy the overalls for thenew members and to pay the cost of our operation and services,even if currently we dont deal or work with money.

    Lessons learned: What lessons have been learnedin this process? How are they being applied?

    This teach as that same people are just committing crime becausetheir do know that what their are doing is crime or there is help forthem to avoid the crime and same domestic worker has been abuseby their employers but there are just keep quite in fear of losing their

    job by coming out and report the crimes.

    To encourage them to speak out and get help.
