P4-1 四級構造 (Quaternary structure) Hemoglobin Hemoglobin Myoglobin Myoglobin Mathews et al (2000) Biochemistry (3e) p.214 四級構造 的妙用,可以 血紅蛋白 (Hb) 肌紅蛋白 (Mb) 的例子說明。 Hb 是四元體,有所 謂的四級構造;Mb 為單元體,只有三級構造。四元體的 Hb 在血液中循環,到肺部攜帶氧分 子,然後送到肌肉,交給單元體的 Mb。 細胞為何有如此的安排? 其目的與機制又是如何? 請注意 Mb 的四元體雖然看起來都很相似,其功能也都一樣,但卻是由 α β 兩種次體以 α 2 β 2 兩兩配合而成。 這兩種次體,是分別由兩個獨立基因表現出來,在細胞質中各取兩個組裝起來。
