Boys & Girls Club of Fond du Lac * The Boys & Girls Club is a youth development organization that serves youth in Fond du Lac and the surrounding areas. Our mission is to empower all young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens through academic, social and emotional

support. We run afterschool programs and summer programs that serve youth in 1st-12th grade. Community Works, LLC * Community Works, LLC was established in 2018 as an innovative and leading community youth

servicing agency. We specialize in working with youth to develop and maintain healthy relationships within our community. We adapt to each child’s individual growth and provide smaller group sizes to ensure that they receive the attention they need and deserve. Our goal is to help these children develop specific skills, maintain and manage their emotions, graduate from their group, and ultimately, retain and implement the skills they have learned as they enter adulthood. Community Works offers two main services: individual skill building and emotional regulation & social skill groups. Externship Activities: Learn about childhood mental illness, behavioral disorders, de-escalation tactics. An introduction into the multiple and diverse roles that exist in the helping professions. Crossroads Care Center of Fond du Lac * Crossroads Care Center was established in 2008. We are a growing company with currently 15 locations in the Mid-West. We are a skilled nursing center designed to meet the physical and emotional needs of individuals with illnesses and disabilities who cannot care for themselves. We

serve those who are recovering after a surgery needing short term rehab, long term care for those that need more support and hospice care. Crossroads is committed to creating an atmosphere of compassionate care. lodging properties and other unique locations as an ideal destination for a wide range of the traveling public’s needs and desires. Each year we utilize a number of marketing programs and resources to serve and represent our community partners collectively. The organization also looks to strengthen preexisting relationships as well as forge new relationships among the businesses and organizations in our community. With a mix of web marketing, social media, traditional advertising and a new event marketing component, DLWR is at the head of the class when it comes to marketing Fond du Lac and the Lake Winnebago Region. Drug Abuse Correctional Center (DACC) * The Drug Abuse Correctional Center (DACC) is located north of Oshkosh in Winnebago County. The current population capacity is 300 adult male inmates, with all inmates at DACC having an Earned Release Program (ERP) need. The core curriculum for ERP is generally 20 weeks in length however, this is based on each inmates risk level and actual assessed needs, which can either, shorten or

lengthen an inmate’s actual length of participation. A major emphasis of the program is community reentry. Treatment staff and each inmate work extensively with their respective probation and parole

agent towards involvement in release planning, including aftercare, residence, support services, and employment. Location: Winnebago/Oshkosh Preferred Majors: Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, and Undeclared. Externship Activities: Students will gain an understanding of what the Department of Corrections has to offer in the areas of Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Counselors, Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, and those students that are undetermined in their field goals. Students will be given opportunities to observe inmate substance use disorder groups, cognitive behavioral groups, and other various groups, review state and federal policies, work with other interdepartmental agencies and security staff, observe offenders as they reintegrate into the community, and sit in on meetings and inmate staffing’s. All externship students will be subject to a background check prior to being placed at the facility. Envision Greater Fond du Lac * Envision Greater Fond du Lac strengthens the economy of the greater Fond du Lac area through commerce, workforce and economic development. Envision Greater Fond du Lac launched in July 2017 as the newly combined Chamber of Commerce and Economic

Development organization. The organization offers programming and services in the areas of: agri-business, business attraction and expansion, business intelligence, chamber membership, economic development, entrepreneurship, human resources, marketing, safety, workforce development, and young professionals. Envision Greater Fond du lac serves the business community of the greater Fond du Lac area through activities driven by the organization’s mission: “We inspire our community to work in partnership and cultivate a vibrant economic future.” Location: Fond du Lac Preferred Majors: Education Externship Activities: The student will spend the week gaining knowledge about the agricultural ambassador program which is funded by the Envision Greater Fond du Lac Agri-Business Council. The student will be actively engaged in classroom presentations in K4 through 5th grade classrooms throughout Fond du Lac County and surrounding areas. The student will learn basic agricultural knowledge to share with students through interactive programs with topics that may include cheesemaking, honey, pork by-products, bison, milk production, popcorn, and trees. The student will observe the presentations and then have the opportunity to present the material independently. The ag ambassador will be present at all times in the classroom to reinforce the materials that will be presented. The student may also help prepare the classroom programs for upcoming visits. Fond du Lac County District Attorney’s Office

OFFICE OF THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY The Fond du Lac County District Attorney’s Office is an office who prosecutes alleged crimes in cooperation with law enforcement, and file criminal charges and bringing evidence before a jury if necessary. Mission Statement: The mission of the Fond du Lac County District Attorney's Office is to promote public peace and safety by just and vigorous prosecution; to seek and do impartial justice by ensuring that the guilty are punished and the innocent go free; to protect the health and welfare of children who are victims of child abuse and neglect; to safeguard the rule of law and to promote citizens' participation in law enforcement by treating all persons who come in contact with the criminal justice system with fairness, dignity and respect. WHAT WE DO

VICTIM/WITNESS PROGRAM The purpose of the Fond du Lac County Victim/Witness Program is to provide direct services to crime victims and witnesses by ensuring that all victims and witnesses of crime are treated with dignity, respect, courtesy and sensitivity and that the rights in Chapter 950, Wis. Stats., of victims and witnesses of crime are honored and protected. To achieve this the Victim/Witness Coordinator maintains contact with victims and witnesses to update them on case progress in the criminal justice system. DIVERSION PROGRAM The Diversion Program is generally a 12 month period of supervision during which a participant’s criminal case is adjourned. It allows offenders the opportunity to demonstrate their rehabilitation and in return have their case dismissed. Location: Fond du Lac Preferred Majors: Criminal Justice and Pre-Law Externship Activities: Externs will be provided the opportunity to shadow the District Attorney and Assistant District Attorneys to the courtroom to observe criminal cases, traffic cases, and closed-court juvenile cases which are handled by the Juvenile Prosecutor. Externs may also have the opportunity to talk with a Judge(s). Our goal is to give students a meaningful experience and exposure to our office. It is an excellent way to become acquainted with how the District Attorney’s Office runs and how we connect with the Court system in addition to help you determine your interest in criminal law, and determine whether trial practice is a future career path. Fond du Lac County Historical Society * The Fond du Lac County Historical Society encompasses the Galloway House and Village, Thornton Research Library and Blakely Museum. The FCHS has been connecting people with Fond du Lac County history through preservation, exploration, imagination and discovery of its past since

1948! Our grounds span over 15 acres and host over 30 historic buildings from throughout Fond du Lac County. There are a lot of different people and skills required to manage and grow an organization like the FCHS. During an externship, you will learn all about what it takes to operate a historic site and non-profit organization. This experience can fit any major, from history to non-profit management, accounting to architecture, and so much more! Location: Fond du Lac Preferred Majors: All majors. Externship Activities: Learn about non-profit organizational management, including: non-profit financial management, grant writing for non-profit organizations, event planning such as Museum Week and Sturgeon Spectacular events, social media and online communications, receive historical site tours, and so much more! Fond du Lac Dock Spiders and Wisconsin Timber Rattlers * The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders and the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers are joining together to provide a unique opportunity for students to complete an externship at both organizations!

The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders are a member of the Northwoods League, a premier summer collegiate baseball league. We are one of 22 teams in the league, which includes teams from Green Bay, Madison, Kenosha, and Mequon. The Dock Spiders were an expansion team for the 2017 season and play their home games at the newly renovated Herr-Baker Field at Marian University. The team plays

72 games (36 home and away) from the end of May through early August and won the Northwoods League Championship in 2018.

The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers are a minor league baseball team of the Midwest League, and the Class A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. The team is located in Appleton, WI and the team plays its home games at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium. The stadium opened in 1995 and seats 5,170 fans (plus grass seating). The Timber Rattlers have won nine league championships, most recently in 2012. The team began play as the Appleton Foxes in 1958 and played at Appleton’s Goodland Field

before moving to their current home at Fox Cities Stadium, a larger, more modern ballpark on Appleton’s northwest side. The franchise set its all-time attendance record of 253,240 in 2009, the first year of their affiliation with the Milwaukee Brewers. Location: Fond du Lac and Appleton Preferred Major: Sport and Recreation Management, Marketing, Communication Externship Activities: Dedicated time spent in each department of the organization (i.e. Box/Office Ticket Sales, Corporate Sponsorships, Group Sales, Community Relations, Stadium and Team Operations, and Marketing/Promotions) to learn core functions and gain an understanding of the baseball industry as a whole. consumption, and specialty whey products used in many applications; including dressings, yogurts and energy drinks. Headquartered in the Fond du Lac, WI area.
