Dear Parents:
As an ongoing cultural opportunity for students this year at Mt. View, the World Languages department is offering our Culture Club. This will be an opportunity to extend our students’ world language learning and cultural horizons as well as a chance to socialize and interact with students who might be taking a different language. Students will explore other cultures and the comparisons between those cultures to their own. Students do not have to be enrolled in a world language class to participate. All are welcome!
The Culture Club meetings will take place several times throughout the year. Due to limited space, students’ permission forms will be accepted on a first come first serve basis. The meeting times may be extended due to the nature of the activities. Advance notice will be given for any meetings that will extend beyond our regular end time. Please see the schedule below for the complete list of meeting dates and themes. Students should be promptly picked up at 4:30 unless otherwise noted. The first 10 minutes of each session will be dedicated to snack time. Students are encouraged to bring in a healthy snack from home to eat after school. The school will not provide snacks for the students. There will be a one-time activities fee of $10.00 per student to help cover club expenses. For financial assistance, please contact your child’s World Language teacher. As each meeting approaches, students will receive more information and possibly permission slips regarding the details of specific upcoming sessions.
Thank you in advance for sharing with us, and we hope to see all of our students participating in the Mount View Middle School Culture Club! Our first meeting is September 30, 2015. See below for themes and times. Please complete the attached permission slip and return it to your student’s world language teacher along with the $10.00 activities fee.
