To get it down,you need to reduce, where possible,the number of components.Or you need to precision-machinematerials of only the highest quality.The F4 RC MV Agusta takes thelatter approach. A few examples:11 magnesium covers, 11 carbonfibre parts, a crankshaft lightenedby 487grams and 333 titaniumbolts, feather-light and glitteringgold and silver.

On a racing bike, the wheels are an essential element to racing success.Less weight means less gyroscopic inertia,faster changes of direction, better laptimes. It's also important that, in additionto being light, they are beautiful andmade of forged aluminium. So you canrelish the panache and the performance.Just perfect for mounting high spec tyreswith compounds that need heating - withtyre warmers, of course, a must for anyself-respecting track day devotee.

Pro riders know they can counton the name Öhlins. That's why theF4 RC features a USD NIX 30 forkwith TiN coating, separate hydraulicadjustment of compression andrebound and adjustable spring pre-load. At the rear there's an Ohlins TTX 36shock absorber with piggybackreservoir, with manual compressionrebound adjustment effected viaanodised aluminium knobs. Öhlins alsosupplies the steering damper, a realdetail set between the frame and tank.

With a limited-edition production run of just 250bikes, the F4 RC is a hand-assembled gem, put togetherby a team of specialists toensure optimisation of every component and maximum uniformity between onebike and another.The certificate of authenticitymakes it as unique andexclusive as its every detail.

On a competition bike the exhaust system needs to fulfil two criteria:increase engine efficiency and powerand reduce overall motorcycle weight.On the F4 RC , as on every MV Agusta,it does both admirably. It also adds another must-have quality: captivating beauty. Three qualitiesthat have brought about high-performance partnerships with Termignoni and a real artist in themotorcycle industry, Magneti Marelli,the supplier of the control unit.

The F4 RC is the essence oflightness and rationality. Everythinghas been designed with speed inmind. Every instant, on the track or in the pit, consists of vital fractionsof a second. Yet even seeminglysecondary design features can helpriders claw back those precious splitseconds. Such as the quick-releasefuel cap: ultra-light and CNC-machined,this is the same as the Reparto Corseone used on Camier's bike.

The F4 RC is a bike more than capable of gliding silently along public roads. Yet itcan quickly be transformed into a clone, alsoin performance terms, of the MV AgustaF4 Reparto Corse ridden by Leon Camier.The magic takes place when the special conversion box is opened. Inside lies akit ready to transform road animal into track beast: exhaust, dedicated controlunit, and rear seat cover to turn it into astreamlined single-seater. Ergal fairingplugs and fuel cap, bike cover and themust-have certificate of authenticity.

The F4 RC offers something else usually reserved for pro riders: the choice of a race number (except for numbers 1 and 12, for reasons linked to the collectors' market andthe brand history).Let us suggest a fewnumbers sported byfamous MV Agustariders: #2 Leon Camier,#4 Phil Read, #29 MikeHailwood, #62 JohnSurtees, obviously beforetheir bikes took on thenumber 1 attributed toevery world champion.

All limited-edition F4 bikes can be recognised by this particular feature, introduced in 1999 with the first F4Serie Oro. Personal numbering wasinaugurated by founder Claudio Castiglionito enhance the authenticity and exclusive-ness of MV Agusta motorcycles.A tradition that continues with the F4 RC,a true F4 that's a record-breaker in termsof power and lightness - and also thefirst bike born out of the partnershipwith Mercedes-AMG. Enough to makeit an instantly collectable classic.

The F4 RC engine is an inimitable gem thatlies firmly in the domain of limited-edition exclusivity. Each internal component - suchas pistons, gudgeon pins and crankshaft -has been designed to be as light as possible.The same philosophy has been extended tothe gears and camshafts, all hand-finishedwith machine tools. Externally, titaniumand magnesium play a key role. The formerhas been used to make all the fasteners,the latter all the exterior covers. No F4 hasever received so much care and attention.

As is the tradition, the F4 RC features radialtitanium valves and, thanks to outstandingengine tuning, reaches a maximum powerof 205 hp at 13,600 rpm (212 hp on the kitversion with exhaust system and dedicatedcontrol unit) against a torque of 111 Nm at9600 rpm. The fuel delivery system featurestwo injectors per cylinder, arranged on twobanks: the upper one with the higher flowuses Magneti Marelli components, the lowerone features 4 Mikuni injectors. The electronic control unit manages the full Ride-By-Wire system.
