Musical ScoreWilbur Sampson
Wilbur Sampson was a composer, conductor and musician active from the mid-nineteen thirties. He began with an interest in bands and brass music, but worked in a variety of styles and scored a number of feature films, along with government documentaries. In the nineteen fifties, he worked on several films with Lee Robinson and Chips Rafferty. The National Library has various pieces of his printed music on file, listed here.
The film is similar to the McCreadie brothers' previous production Always Another Dawn in 1947, in that it features an original piano concerto that takes up several minutes of screen time.
The film also features country music singer Tim McNamara singing We're Goin' to the Rodeo Today and Riding Along. It was his first recording, done in Columbia Studios in Sydney, and released by Regal Zonophone.
