• Each student will be required to have two different films for your papers.

• No student can have the same film as another student

• Films will be chosen from those listed on a special website that I will post on the class website this evening.

• Sign in. • Only films with check boxes are possible

choices.

Attendance

• Mandatory• Each class will have a quiz where I will play a

film score. You will write down the film name and/or the composer’s name along with your own name on a sheet of paper.

• No harm, no foul. All correct answers receive extra credit. Incorrect answers, get no extra credit. We take roll from these sheets of paper. One sheet per customer - no handing in sheets for friends.

Grading

• Test 1 (mid-term): 20%• Test 2 (final): 33%• Paper 1 (mid-term): 15%• Paper 2 (final): 32%

• Attendance - have more than three unexcused absences and risk failure.

• Extra credit - five or more correct answers can increase grade by half a step.

Grading

• I do grade on percentage

• I do not grade on the curve

• If you learn what I ask you to learn, attend class, do the reading, do well on the tests, write great papers, then you get an A, no matter how many others get an A.
