Job Title: Catastrophe Accumulation Analyst Sr - Munich Re America Job Type: Underwriting Office Location: Princeton POSITION DESCRIPTION: This position is responsible for analyzing Munich Re America’s potential catastrophe exposures, providing expertise and direction to the business units on catastrophe issues, supporting the underwriting and pricing of Munich Re America products, and assisting Munich Re America clients in evaluating and understanding their exposures to catastrophes. 1. Analyze Munich Re America’s potential exposure to natural catastrophe and terrorism events. Manage the portfolio for assigned SBU or business segment. Work with underwriters and clients to facilitate analysis of accounts. Evaluate individual client results and provide feedback and expertise to support the underwriting effort. Accumulate, report, and evaluate portfolio analysis results. 2. Provide direction and expertise to underwriters, by completing pricing analyses, to support the pricing of Munich Re America products. Evaluate exposure data quality and reinsurance structures for modeling. Evaluate the appropriateness of the model relative to the exposures being analyzed. Provide loss cost, uncertainty parameters, PML curves, and budget data to underwriters. Use pricing and modeling tools integrated with MR underwriting and pricing systems. 3. Lead projects to support strategic initiatives related to risk accumulation to meet the needs of internal/external clients. Analyze, evaluate, and develop project tasks and guidelines. Implement new products, processes, and procedures. Monitor results and effectiveness of implementation. Direct and train project team members. 4. Provide Catastrophe Management Consulting Services to external clients. This includes: Evaluation of cat management practices. Training and education on the use of cat models. Audit of cat modeling data. Providing client study reports to assist clients in evaluating and understanding their exposures to catastrophes through the use of models. Discuss possible strategies for managing exposures. 5. Support the multiple disciplines of Cat Management through the education process. Maintain education on 3rd party cat modeling tools, including data requirements, capabilities, methodologies, model output, and model changes. Train and develop personnel in business units. Give presentations and training sessions on various cat management topics to internal and external clients. 6. Participate on “peer reviews”. 7. Assist with the development of strategies for implementing catastrophe management practices throughout the organization. Provide expertise and direction to business units on catastrophe issues

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 5+ years experience with catastrophe models (RMS model experience required) Bachelors degree (minimum) with a concentration in Meteorology or Earthquake science.  Some professional

level insurance course work is desirable. Excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills Advanced knowledge of primary insurance policies and reinsurance structures. 5+ years of insurance industry experience
