MTM – Work design productive and safe
MTM-PractitionerAssess.Design.Implement.
An MTM-Practitioner is the expert at the corporation for using MTM. He or she is proficient in
recognizing and assessing improvement potential,
planning and introducing design and improvement projects and
providing ergonomic and cost-effective work design.
The MTM-Practitioner guarantees that MTM is used properly. He or she is the contact partner for works councils,
employees and managers when it comes to developing the use of MTM in the corporation.
The “Blue Card” (MTM)The certified training courses to become an MTM-Practitioner conclude with the “Blue Card” (MTM), the internationally
recognized certificate of competence on the practical use of the MTM method for planning and improving processes and
work systems.

An integral part of numerous employer/works council agreements
Renewing the “Blue Card” (MTM):
Regular checks are necessary to guarantee the skills and knowledge of an MTM-Practitioner (at least every 3 years).

MTM-1 Base (E-Learning or Presence)MTM-1 Base communicates the principles of work design with MTM, knowledge and skills for designing human
work in an ergonomic and cost-effective manner on the basis of fundamental movements of the hand/arm system,
the eyes and the complete body as well as principles for planning methods and determining target times – based on
the MTM standard performance.

A further MTM process building block systemAn MTM-Practitioner acquires knowledge and skills for efficiently using at least one other MTM process building

MTM-MEK (MTM for one-of-a-kind): small batch production

MTM-Practitioner The MTM-Practitioner course provides practice in using MTM, knowledge and skills to determine potential, design
work and collect data as well as plan and complete projects.
The practical use of MTM is communicated at public or in-house training courses at real workplaces.
Deutsche MTM-Vereinigung e. V. also provides coaching on the job within corporations, where a corporate design
project is processed with support from an MTM-Instructor.

Once they have completed these certified training courses, the participants receive the “Blue
Card” (MTM), which is valid for 3 years.
