Learning Intention:

To familiarise you with basic wilderness emergency equipment and procedures.

Success Criteria:By the end of this session everyone should be able to:• Identify and use 6 commonly-used items of

emergency kit;• Use standard emergency procedures to

cope with a range of possible scenarios.Some of you may be able to:• Use more advanced signalling techniques.

A.C.T. ASSESS the situation: Is there any immediate danger? What are we going to do? COMMUNICATE: Stop and wait for staff Have key info ready (Grid, situation) Phone staff Emergency signal TAKE ACTION: First Aid, Shelter etc.
