With Middle East markets deliver-ing consistent growth across all sectors of the au-

tomotive industry, the Dubai inter-national Motor Show’s position as the region’s largest and most influ-ential automotive event has never been more important for the global motoring world.

A prominent event within the new-ly formed Dubai Motor Festival an-nounced by Shaikh hamdan bin Mo-hammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, the show is expected to be the largest edition in its history.

More than 15 per cent bigger, the exhibition space this year totals 65,000 square metres to accommo-date over 600 vehicles on display. A record 108 global and regional launches, including 15 concept cars by the world’s leading motoring manufacturers, are scheduled to take place during the five-day event. this highlights the influence of the Dubai international Motor Show and its po-sition as the definitive platform for reaching Middle East markets.

Range Rover Sport

Range Rover Sport takes the crown as one of the most sought after cars in town. the UK-based brand comes with a redesigned exterior complete with the grille, bumpers, side profile, sloping roofline, slimmer lamps and spoiler-like extensions. Easily one of the best all-around vehicles available in the market, Range Rover Sport is attractive, luxuri-ous on the inside, sleek, fast and re-markably well engineered. with exhaust tips to accentuate the look. Granturismo has a sport button that increases the engine note and sharpens the suspension to string out gear chang-es. With an ergonomic steering wheel, the Maserati offers redesigned seats for better lateral support and space for rear seat passengers. Sprinting to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds to reach a top speed of 315 km/h, there are a few equals of Maserati Granturismo in the sports cat-egory cars.

Ferrari F12 berlinetta

Ferrari is synonymous with fast and the furious. Arguably one of the most ad-mired sports cars in Dubai, the 2013 Ferrari F12 berlinetta is a front mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive grand tourer manufactured by the legendary italian sports car manufacturer. the car’s en-gine system is fitted with Ferrari’s icon-ic hELE start-stop system to reduce fuel consumption when idling. to keep up with the brand’s luxe quotient F12 berlinetta has some of most sophisti-cated seats and a cabin that is lined in rich, aromatic and hand-fitted leather. the aggressively sculpted steering wheel is trademark Ferrari. A series of red LEDs at the top of the rim that light up sequentially make the supercar stand apart. F12 is sleeker than the rest of Ferrari cars – 2.0 inches shorter in length, 1.2 inches less in wheelbase and 0.7 inches down in width. the coupe’s centre of gravity too has been rede-signed and is down by a full inch, mak-ing it all the more dynamic. Infiniti Q60

infiniti has all the trappings of a grand car that maintains a perfect harmony between the mechanical and stylistic requirements. the infiniti division of Nissan manufactures the compact sports car. Q60 is an entire package that comes fitted with leather upholstery, heated front seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic cli-mate control and a seven-inch touch-screen display. Being fitted with an im-pressive cruise control, fog lights, auto on/off hiD xenon headlights and 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels is not why Q60 has won accolades. the coupe steals hearts by offering a comfortable luxury-ride and a choice of a seven-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission. the moonroof, memory functionality for the front seats, power lumbar support, power tilt and telescop-ic steering column are just some of its add-ons.

Dubai international Motor Show also be-comes the host for the first time of the Dubai Distinctive Number Plates Public Auction by the Dubai Roads and transport Author-ity (RtA) and supported by Lexus, taking place on November 7 at the Al Multaqua Ballroom in Dubai World trade Centre.

the motoring excitement generated by the Dubai international Motor Show this year extends to the streets of Dubai with the launch of the Dubai Grand Parade — a spectacular convoy of hundreds of super and luxury cars and bikes that will follow a route past the city’s most iconic landmarks. taking place on November 8, and led by the Dubai Police fleet of famed supercars together with the infiniti Red Bull Racing Formula 1 car, this inaugural event as part of the Dubai Motor Festival has been en-thusiastically received by both motoring clubs and the public. An initiative of the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), the Dubai Grand Parade is sup-ported by the RtA and Dubai Police. tak-ing place from 3pm to 4pm, the RtA has advised that traffic on the designated route may be affected and are advising motorists to use alternative routes.

An action-packed schedule of entertain-ing and interactive features at the show in-cludes the Red Bull Car Park Drift Regional Finals, an adrenaline-fuelled battle of the best for the coveted ‘King of Drift’ title sponsored by Chevrolet, also taking place on November 8. Other show features in-

clude the Nissan experiential 4x4 track, a hyundai World Cup Competition that fo-cuses on football skills, and a Fastest tyre Change contest sponsored by Pirelli and Wheels Magazine.

Within the confines of its wave-shaped, origami-inspired stand, Al-Futtaim Motors will showcase an expanded display of toyota’s hy-brid powertrain technology that celebrates its 16th anniversary this year. Features will include the pop-ular Prius and Camry hybrids and the tS030 hybrid Endurance race car that competed at the legendary Le Mans 24 hours race.
