The efficiency of motors of frame size 56 - 180 is determined by method of total loss measurement, and the efficiency of motors of frame size 200 – 500 is determined by method of summary of losses.

The rated current of a motor is the value consumed by a given motor at the rated load, rated supply voltage, rated frequency, rated efficiency and power factor.

Real current consumed by the motor at the rated supply voltage, rated frequency and rated load results from the real efficiency and real power factor (refer deviations).

Insulation Classification

The insulation system of an electric motor is determined by the insulation class on the basis of its properties.

Thermal classification is related to the temperature of the hotspot in the insulation occurring during rated operating

conditions of the electric motor, allowing for the highest permissible rise in average temperature.

This rise should be selected so that at the highest permissible ambient temperature, the temperature of the hotspot in

insulation will not exceed the value assigned to a given of insulation class.

Ratings

Motors are rated for continuous (S1) duty and the range covers up to maximum rating of 315KW/ 425HP in 355 L frame size.

Atmospheric Condition

Normal site conditions in non corrosive and non-hazardous atmosphere. Motors for special atmospheric & site conditions can

be offered on request.

Direction of Rotation

Bi-directional.

Vibration Level

Normal class in accordance with IS: 12075-1986. Precision vibration class can be offered on request.

Noise Level

As per IS: 12065-1986.

Overload Capacity

60% overload for 15 seconds.

Stator Frame

Corrosion-resistant cast iron (CI) stator frames and end-bracket hardware for frame sizes 63-355. Pressure die-cast aluminum

stator frames are available for frame sizes 56-90.

Squirrel Cage Rotor

Dynamically balanced with half sized key and corrosion-protected aluminum die-cast squirrel cage rotor is provided.

Rotor Shaft

Single cylindrical shaft extension at drive end is provided as standard option. The double / tapered / special shaft extension can

be provided on request. Standard shaft material is EN8 (carbon steel) as per IS: 1570-1979. Special grade EN24 shaft material

can be provided on request. Threaded center hole as per DIN 332 Part 2 and Key & Keyway as per IS: 2048-1983 are

provided.

Earthing Terminal

One earthing terminal inside the terminal box (M5 / M6) & two earthing terminals (M6 / M8) on startor housing are provided.

Drain Hole

Drain hole is provided with closeable plastic drain hole plugs for frame sizes 180 – 355.

Eye bolt

Forged steel eye bolt is provided from frame size 100 onwards to facilitate lifting.

Terminal Box

Terminal box is provided as standard offer on top of the frame towards the drive end. Terminal Box towards non drive end or

on sides (LHS / RHS looking from DE side) are available at factory fitted options.

Six lead in the terminal box is provided across the range. However, ratings up-to & including 1.50 KW is externally star

connected & above 1.50 KW ratings are externally delta connected.

Terminal boxes are suitable for a rotation of 3600 in steps of 900.

Threaded cable entry holes are provided & plugged with good quality threaded PVC plugs.

Suitable nickel plated brass single or double compression type cable glands can be provided on request.

Frame sizes: 56-71, 80-90, 100-132, 160-180, 200-250, 280-315 & 355.
