• In small groups design a wall chart for new teachers on how to motivate students and how to avoid demotivating them.
The text book
• Sticking to a text book too rigidly will demotivate your students.
• You need to find ways of 1)making the book interesting and relevant2)differentiating the exercises3)setting challenging extension activities
• In small groups find ways of making the text book more relevant to your students.
• Design some extension activities for the exercises.
• If your students are from a particular industry or sector (hospitality, construction etc) design some relevant extension activities.
