Kuznetskiy metro sta-tion- violet line. In order to get right entrance out-side the metro you need to sit in last coach, if you go from centre. train from the centre and fol-low exit to Rozdestvenka street then.

The lobby is situated in the court. In order to get Rojdestvenskaya street you need to pass through one of three arches.

1 Kuznetskiy Most metro station, Kuznets-kiy Most street.

This is one of the oldest streets of Moscow. As always, it is street of shops and restaraunts.

2 Teatralnaya metro station, Okhotny Ryad

Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, Maly Theatre and TSUM are situated there. Metropol holtel is on the op-posite side of the road.

Pedestrian street with lots of cafes and number os shops. Practically all buildings there are architectural monuments.

The most famous square in Mos-cow, main place for demonstrations, concerts and fairs.

Central street of Moscow, one of the reachest strees not only in Moscow, but maybe in the whole world. This is also centre of night life.

Ploschad Revolutcii metro station.

Situated 100 meters from Kremlin on one of the oldest streets of Mos-cow. It is consider the most prestige showroom.

In XVII centuries there were ceremonial passages in Kremlin in this street. Lots of cloisters and churches are situated there.

Lubyanskaya street is famous by build-ing, which was Soviet and then Russian headquarters of sequrity. It is former building of Insurance Society “Russia“. Word “Lubyanka“ became to associate with state sequrity body.

Small vivid street in Kitay - Gorod. It attracts Muscovites and tourists with its luxurious shops.

MYASNITSKAYA STREET11 Lubyanka, Chistye Prudy metro stations.

It is symbol of Moscow. It is very symbolical and could be compare with Tverskaya, Arbat and Zamoskvorechye.

POKROVKA STREET13 Kitay Gorod metro station.

One of the oldest streets of Moscow with lots of lanes, going out of it. It is narrow and consist of low build-ings. Lots of cafes, restaraunts and small shops create nice and com-fortable atmosphere.

CHISTOPRUDNY BOULEVARD12 Chistye Prudy metro station.

One of 10 boulevards of Moscow boulevard’s rings. It is a place of exhibitions, concerts, cultural events and walkings. There is free skating-rink on pond in winter.

MAYAKOVSKY’S MUSEUM10 Lubyanka, Kuznetskuy Most metro stations.

Unusual museum for lovers of Russian poetry of XX century and Avant - Garde art.

Open from 10:00 till 20:00. Wednesday- day off, last Friday of each month- Sani-tary day.

Kitay - Gorod metro station.

Place of recreation in centre of Moscow. Protests and piquets are frequent take place there.

Unique and unusual street. It ap-peared in XIV century, when Mos-cow was white-stone. Every build-ing and object on this street has its own inimitable history, connected with names of poets, composers, actors, revolutioners.

Biblioteka Imeni Lenina, Kropotkinskaya metro stations.

This is the biggest Russian bib-lioteque. There is also Museum of Book, including hundrends of rare editions.

Pashkov house is situated on big Vagankovksy hill on the opposite of Kremlin. It was first high-society building, from which it was pos-sible to observe Kremlin not in a way of bottom-up. It was also possible to observe Ivanovskaya and Sobornaya squares, which now belongs stage biblioteque.

This is the main captial museum. At the begining its creator, the pro-fessor of Moscow State University Ivan Tsvetaev planned the building as tutorial on history of art with copies of antique vases, sculptures and other ancient stuff. Nowaday lots of exhibitions of masterpieces of art from the world’s galleries are held there.

It is one of the most famous sights of Russia. According to legend, af-ter building cathedral, architectors were blinded in order of Ivan IV The Terrible, so they could never build the same beautiful effidences.

The biggest orthodox cathedral was blown up in 1931 in order to build huge 300m high Sovet Palace with 100m Lenin sculpture.

You should move from Bolshaya Ordynka to Serpuhovskaya Square, which is situated on Sadovoe Kolzo. Catch a trolleybus on station “Serpuhovskaya Square” and go to station “Smolenskaya Square“.

Baroque church was build in 1766-1775 by project of Karl Blank. The building probably was ordered by Ekaterina II during her coorna-tion in 1762.

Arbatskaya, Smolenskaya metro stations.

This is one-flat house, a famous architectural monument of Soviet Avangarde. It was built in 1927-1929 in Krivobarbatskiy lane by the plan of distinguished soviet archi-tector Konstantin Melnikov.

The typical feature is huge USSR state on facade. This building is only from 7 high-rises buildings, which streeple do not have five-pointed star, possibly because of its fragility.

1 Universitet metro station.

The main building is one of 7 Stalin high-rises, built in 1940-1950. Mos-cow State University- the oldest and the biggest classic university in Russia. It is also a centre of science and culture. Museum of soil science is situated in spire of high-rise.

This is a beautiful orthodox church in honour of Holy Trinity. Two hundredth anniversary was cel-ebrated 2 october 2011.

3 Universitet, Vorob’yevy gory metro stations.

This is one of Moscow trademarks and was opened in 1953 with new building of Moscow State Univer-sity. You can observe a beautiful panorama. The height of observa-tion point- 80m above Moscow River level.

4 Vorob’yevy gory metro station.

Luzhniki metro bridge through Vorob’yevy Hills was build in 1958. Station “Vorob’yevy gory“ is the first one, situated on the bridge over the river. It is also the longest station of Moscow metro. From time to time the platform turns in exhibition space.

5 Vorob’yevy gory, Sportivnaya metro stations.

This is the biggest sport and en-tertaining complexin Russia and one of the biggest in the world. It occupies 145 hectares and consists of 140 buildings. There are lots of monuments on its territory, reflect-ing its history.

OLYMPIC COMPLEX “LUZHNIKI“ 6

This is the biggest Russian Sta-dium. In 1980 it was the main place of Moscow Olympiad. Just from this stadium Olympic bear flew away, draw tears from audience.

9 It was founded by the grand duke Vasily III in 1524 in honour of Smolensky icon of the Mother of God “Hodegetria”. Architectural ensemble was included in a list of world human heritage by UNES-CO and considered one of the old-est and beautifulest convents.

It is unique museum in Russia be-cause of content and design. Nowa-day there are about 50 outstanding and unique retro-cars, representing all 100 years histrory of world car indstry.

1Kurskaya, Chistye Prudy, Kitay-Gorod metro stations.

First stoned church was built in 1676, the belfry-in the middle of XVIII century. The church was re-built in XIX - in 1806 right-angled side-chapels were added, in 1831 the whole building was recreated. In 1844 side-chapels were recon-structed and refectory was reno-vated.

2 Kurskaya, Chistye Prudy metro stations.

The name appeared in XVIII cen-tury in honour of a capitan Lyalin. Lane was built on with apartment houses in art nouveau style. Most of houses remained 2-3 floor till nowadays.

This was an appartment house of Tarkhova- a masterpiece of North art nouveau by Makhaev. The facade is in bad condition. External moulding was destroyed in last years (there were stems and big flowers on the place of current flat contours).

5 Kurskaya, Chistye Prudy metro stations.

An appartment house, built at the begining of XX century. It is an example of “typical project“ in efficient art noveau style. Totally smooth surfaces of walls, decorated only by platbands from dark-green majolica.

HOUSE #8 6 Kurskaya, Chistye Prudy metro stations.

It consists of 2 parts, cut by the passage against Kazarmenny lane. The boulevard in North side ap-peared only after a war. Earlier the open ground of Pokrovsky barracks stretched from Khokhlovsakya square till Kazarmenny lane.

POKROVSKY BOULEVARD

3 Kurskaya, Chistye Prudy metro stations.

This is one of few extant secondary squares of Old Moscow, with typi-cal branch of Formal Lanes.

The mansion included modern district 3 abd 5 and also a part of Lyalin square. In 1812 house burnt and in 1820 new one was built with elements of old one.

Empire mansion on the corner of Lyalin square- is an example of late-empire Moscow mansions. The author is unknown. There were lots of communal flats full of lodgers in USSR. The mansion was kept in a bad way, so the capitals and some decorations disappeared.

7 Chistye Prudy, Kitay-Gorod metrostations.

The church is known since 1625. The stoned temple was built in 1657. In the middle of XVIII century there was created unusual iconostasis with carving of folds, icons and church chandelier. New apse was created at the begining of XIX century.

9Chistye Prudy, Kitay-Gorod metrostations.

Recent restoration researches showed, that existing bushel was built in 1550. It is consist of Groz-nensky thin brick, which was used in building side chapels of Annun-ciation Cathedral in Kremlin dur-ing governing of Ivan The Terrible.

An example of dwelling building in Bely Gorod. On 2 floor it is possible to see planning and elements of decoration (doors, stove, fireplace), typical for noble mansions of XX century.

HALL OF SHUISKY

8 Chistye Prudy, Kitay-Gorod metrostations.

Palace of XVII century (1665) belonged to diplomat and clerk in the Boyar’s Council Emelyan. Till 1689 foreign-policy developped in this place.

PALACE OF UKRAINTSEV

11 Kitay-Gorod metro station.

The church was build in style of spectacular classicism by the project of architect Balashov in 1803-1804.

NATIVITY CHURCH IN KUKLISHKI 12 Kitay-Gorod metro station.

A mansion of XIX century. Nowa-day in its interior there is night club Solyanka. It works also as a cafe in working days. Very comfortable and nice place.

13Kitay-Gorod, Taganskaya metro stations.

This building closes the perspec-tive from Kremlin to mouth of Yauza. This is a high-rise, built in 1948-1952. There are about 700 flats, shops, post office, cinema and a memorial flat of Ulanova in this building.

14Kitay-Gorod, Taganskaya metro stations.

According to a slab, the church was built in 1595 by “Moscow trade man Savva Emelyanov, a son of Vagin“. The oldest part is one-col-umn basement. A brickwork from small “alevizovsky” brick saved. Such brickwork begun to use at the begining of XVI century. Obvious-ly, Savva Vagin reconstructed old church, existing long years ago.

THE CHURCH OF NIKITA THE MARTYR IN SHVI-VAYA GORKA 15 Taganskaya metro station.

This is the oldest Moscow district. It became populated in XV—XVI centuries by moved craftsmen, doing dangerous work (potters and farriers). Lots of palace handicraft suburbs was there. And each of suburb had its own chrch. So there are lots of churches there.

TAGANSKAYA HILL

16 Taganskaya metro station.

An orthodox temple, founded in 1 quarter of XVII century. The main shrine is an icon of Mother of God “Trojerucica”. There is an opinion, that because of this icon the temple saved its bells, passed through all complicated periods of history and wasn’t closed.

Baumanskaya metro station- blue line. There is only one exit at the end of a station. Coming out, you will see a small square. Turn right and you will be on Baumans-kaya street.

1 Baumanskaya metro station.

Ticket price- 300 RUR. It includes possibility to play on 15 arcade machines. Opening hours: Monday-Thursday from 14:00 till 21:00. Fri-day- Sunday from 13:00 till 20:00.

MUSEUM OF SOVIETARCADE MACHINES 2 Baumanskaya metro station.

This is a belfry of believer church of St. Ekaterina, built in 1915. It existed in house of a merchant on 2 floor since 1872. In 1979 house was destroyed, but the belfry remained.

BELFRY

3 Baumanskaya metro station.

The belfry belonged to a temple of XVIII century. New one was bult in 1835-1845 by architect Tyurin in late empire style. In 1799 Alexan-der Pushkin was christened there.

YELOKHOVO CATHEDRAL

4 Baumanskaya metro station.

Basmannaya settlement was there in XVII century. There are 2 ver-sions of inhabitant’s occupation. Palace’s bakers lived there and produced government bread “Bas-man“. Or craftsmen made wide-spread patterned decorations on metal and wood. Despite of remote-ness from a centre, Basmannaya settlement developped, grow richer and became prestigeous district. Since XVIII century its territory was built with merchant houses.

5 Baumanskaya, Kurskaya, Krasnye Vorota metro stations.

The temple was built in 1745-1751. It belongs to a small group of monuments in mature barocco. It is a perfect example of Catherine the Great epoch.

8 Krasnye Vorota metro station.

Main buildings there- apart-ment houses in art nouveau style, constructed in 1900-1910. Houses #24-28, adjoining to the Sadovoe Koltso, were built in early XIX century.

MASHKOV STREET

9 Krasnye Vorota, Chistye Prudy metro stations.

This is contemproray monument- 4-floor mansion 342 m2 , construct-ed by the project of Tkachenko in 1998-2000. According to architect Paperny’s opinion, egg house is the worst example of “Luzkov archi-tecture”.

11 Krasnye Vorota metro station.

Building in constructivism style was reconstructed from former court storehouses in 1929-1934. Arches, based on thick brick walls was saved inside the building. The foundation with baroque decora-tion also remained in inner courts.

12 Krasnye Vorota metro station.

Office-dwelling house, one of 7 Sta-lin high- rises. It was built in 1947-1952 by architects Alexey Dushkin and Boris Mezentsev.

HIGH-RISE ON KRASNYE VOROTA SQUARE

10 Krasnye Vorota metro station.

This is the oldest building, connect-ed with Alexander Pushkin’s name. It includes fence and household services, constructed by Sultanov in 1895. At the end of XIX century, 3 floor was build on.

1 Kropotkinskaya metro station.

The biggest orthodox cathedral was blown up in 1931 in order to build 300m Palace of the Soviets with 100m Lenin sculpture. The process was stoped at the stage of foundation. So there were decided to build huge outdoor pool. In every season about 2000 people could swim there. In 2000 the same cathedral, as befoe was build again. Also a monument of tsar-reformer Alexander II and a bidge to Ber-senevskaya embankment appeared near the cathedral.

2 Kropotkinskaya metro station.

This is cultral centre with galler-ies, museums, bars, restaraunts and university. It is situated in former building of confectioner’s factory “Red October“.

It was created in honour of celebrating 300 years of Rus-sian navy. The work of Zurab Tsereteli, 98m high. This is the highest monument in Russia.

This is a former park of amuse-ments. It was reconstructed and now this is a modern and inter-esting place. There is free Wi-Fi there, hire of urban and sport bikes, wooden beach. In winter the paths turn in a skating-rink. The admission is free.
