Moroccan Etrog for Sukkot 2010 Arcelia Rodriguez
Yarn: very small amounts of worsted weight yarn. I used Vanna!s
Choice, yellow and green colors
Needles: US#6 dpns
Gauge: not important but about 16 sts/4
Small amounts of filling fiber (poly-fil, etc.)
Finished Size: approximately 8 (height) X 4 (widest
diameter)
With yellow color CO 3 and distribute over 3 dpnsKnit 2 rnds
even (without increasing or decreasing stitches)
Next Round: kfb into every stitch (6 sts)
Next Round: knit
Repeat these two rounds until there are 36 sts. Then knit 3
rounds even without increasing, and then
repeat increase rounds once more so there are 48 sts.
Knit two more rounds even without increasing.
Next Round: Here you need to make the little bumps of the fruit,
and you do this as follows: knit 2, *turn, purl
2, turn, knit 4,* repeat from * to * to the end, and turn, purl
2, turn, knit 2.
Next Round: knit
Next Round: knit
Next Round: knit 4, *turn, purl 2, turn, knit 4,* repeat from *
to * until 2 sts remain, turn, purl 2, turn, knit 2.

Decrease Round: *knit 2, k2tog,* repeat from * to * to the end
of round (36 stitches).
Knit 4 rounds St st without increasing or decreasing.
Increase Round: *knit 2, kfb,* repeat from * to * to the end of
round (48 stitches).
Knit 2 rounds St st without increasing or decreasing.
At this point begin to fill the fruit with enough poly-fil or
other fiber to shape.
Decrease Round: *k6, k2tog,* repeat from * to * to the end of
round (42 stitches).
Knit 2 rounds St st without increasing or decreasing.
Decrease Round: *k5, k2tog,* repeat from * to * to the end of
round (36 stitches).
Knit 2 rounds St st without increasing or decreasing.
Decrease Round: *k4, k2tog,* repeat from * to * to the end of
round (30 stitches).
Knit 2 rounds St st without increasing or decreasing.
Continue to decrease 6 sts each round, and then knitting two
rounds even without decreasing, until there
are 12 sts. Then next round k2tog to the end, and repeat this
round (without the even rounds of knitting)until there are 3 sts.
Place 3 sts on single dpn, change to green color and knit i-cord
that is "inch long.
BO all sts. Weave in ends.
