BIBLE STUDY CLASSES for all ages meet at 9:15 every Sunday morning … are YOU involved in one?

Mission Prayer Moments International missions emphasis: “Ramadan”…. From the IMB Prayer Team:

Tajiks of Afghanistan (TAH-jeeks) - Ramadan a month in which Muslims all over the world will fast for 30 days, eating or drinking nothing from dawn to sunset. By doing this, according to their holy book, they will earn more credit in hopes of getting enough to tip the scales and allow them to get into heaven and reach God. This year Ramadan started in late May and will end sometime around June 25. The last week of this 30 days is one that is filled with power for the Muslims. On certain nights, they will stay up all night, praying their prayers asking for visions from Allah. Please pray that on these nights the King of kings and the Lord of lords will give them visions and dreams of Jesus. Pray that they will have a new hope of how to get to God and that will be by the blood of Jesus Christ. Pray also for protection for their health. For many of them, it is very dangerous to be fasting this way, and many people faint and have to have fluids intravenously. Pregnant women don't get the nutrients they need for a developing baby, and the same happens with nursing mothers.

Central Asian Peoples "We are right in the middle of the Islamic month of Ramadan. Almost all of our Muslim friends are participating in some way during this time of fasting. Some people really seek God during this month, so pray that they will truly find Him, that they will see that there is no hope in a system of works, and that it is only by grace, through faith, that we can be saved. Pray that we will have good opportunities to share with people who are ready to listen and obey. Pray for great miracles to happen during this spiritually dark time of the year."

Local/International:

Janet Brantley goes to Haiti Janet travels again to Haiti to work in medical missions at an orphanage with her doctor son, Mitch, his wife and their two children, June 17-24. She will probably work in the pharmacy and her grandchildren will play with and do activities with the children in an orphanage. Pray for clear direction from God about the specifics of who and how to minister to each day. Pray for their health, energy, and a joyful heart to enable them to share God’s love. And pray for them to come home with hearts ready to share what God has put in their hearts during this ministry trip.

Islamic groups nearby? A local couple recently learned from a friend who lives in Montgomery, that there is a mosque there, and a Muslim Center also. He and some other Christians from his church went there to learn about it, and to ask them “how they could love them.” And the response was: “You have begun by coming here to visit our mosque.” All the more reason for us to pray for the ones who attend these places and for our willingness to be intentional about praying for and perhaps even to be ready to meet and talk with them some day! Pray for a heart to desire to share Him in the hard places, even here!
