The innovative FTT design utilises glazing units set in wider sash frames to minimise risk of thermal bridging. In the case of the quadruple-glazed FTT U8 Thermo, when supplied with EHV-AT Thermo flashing this provides an overall window U-value of 0.58W/m2K making it the most energy-efficient roof window on the market.

• INNOVATIVE SASH STRUCTURE

• HIGHLY ENERGY-EFFICIENT GLAZING UNITS

The Triple-chamber U8 glazing unit consists of four panes, use of warm TGI spacers and three inter-pane voids filled with inert krypton gas. Through use of three layers of low-emission coating, the glazing unit provides a superb heat transfer coefficient Ug-value of 0.3 W/m2K.

The Double-chamber U6 glazing unit consists of three panes, the external and middle panes of which are toughened glass and the internal pane laminated safety glass (class P2A). The whole unit incorporates two layers of low-emission coating and warm TGI spacers. Inter-pane voids are filled with inert argon gas, providing a heat transfer coefficient Ug-value of 0.5 W/m2K.

New FTT windows are supplied with a completely new style of locking mechanism which locks the sash either side of the frame when the operating handle is turned. The FTT window is also equipped with a quadruple seal system, in which highly flexible TPE material is used.

• UNOBSTRUCTED VIEW OUTSIDE

Installing large, highly energy-efficient FTT windows brings many advantages. The sizeable glazing area maximizes the value of natural daylight while providing effective insulation. FTT glazing enables radiant heating from the sun to be captured, even on sunny winter days. The heat is retained within the room while the low emission coating on panes prevents it from escaping. This invariably helps offset heating bills in winter.

FTT windows offer improved functionality over centre pivot windows as their axis of sash rotation has been raised by 7cm. As result, even a tall person can stand comfortably by an open window. The sash can be positioned at any point between 0° and 40° by virtue of an innovative supporting mechanism. This balances the forces resulting from the differing weight either side of the point of rotation.

Highly energy-efficient FTT windows are in-stalled in exactly the same way as traditional FAKRO products. Finishing style can be pro-vided by internal accessories such as Venetian or pleated blinds or, on the outside, universal awning blinds or electric roller shutters.

- This flashing can be used with all types of tile and slate cover-ings up to a profile depth 90mm.
