Moonlight in the Gardens

Dear friends of the Botanical Gardens,

Moonlight in the Gardens’ 2015 record crowd of 900, and more than $170,000 profit, was due to supporters like you! In 2016,

for the third year CITGO-Corpus Christi Refinery is our signature event’s PRESENTING SPONSOR! We would love for you to ,

join them in supporting environmental education programming at the Botanical Gardens as an Underwriting or Moon/Star Table Sponsor.

Last year due to weather, we had to move the event to the Solomon P. Ortiz International Center with only 36 hours’ notice. Despite the changes, it was an incredible event. This year, due to improvements for FM 2444 / S. Staples Street in front of our facility, the Board opted to move the event back to the Ortiz Center to prevent congestion from hundreds of cars arriving at the Gardens at once.

This move has presented some changes in our underwriting opportunities due to limitations on in-kind donations allowed. However, we are working to transform the Ortiz Center into a tropical garden paradise on the ship channel. We still will have many of our traditional features like Stellar Spirits bars, Best Steak on the Planet, Astronomical Appetizers and Saturn’s Sweets. A “universe” of fun features Martian Music Bar on Apollo’s Patio, Nep-Tunes by Flashback in the main hall, a greater, grander Starlight Silent Auction and Grand Galaxy Auction, along with new features, like Pictures with Parrots in Jupiter’s Jungle Room, and Visitors from Planet Plant, rather than the butterfly release even the Man in the Moon can’t quite figure out indoors!

We want to give you an opportunity to be an UNDERWRITING SPONSOR this year, which adds more visibility for your company or family. Underwriters get on-site signage for your underwritten feature along with individual recognition on our underwriters listings sent out with table sales request letters, invitations, event program, news releases and in our newsletter. A listing of underwriting opportunities is enclosed, along with the MOON and STAR SPONSOR options. Whichever you choose, you’ll be attending one of the most popular parties in town!

FLORA, FAUNA & FUN! Visitors to our South Texas Botanical Gardens & Nature Center become educated about our South Texas flora and fauna by visiting the Butterfly House, Sensory & Hummingbird Gardens, Resident Reptiles, Exotic Parrots, and newly enhanced Oso Creek Loop Trail. We’re also proud of the Anderson Bromeliad Conservatory, and our new 1800 square-foot Samuel Jones Orchid Conservatory with adjoining Support Greenhouse. With additional community support, we’ll soon add a Rainforest Conservatory. Kids Summer Nature Camps have expanded curriculums, and we’ve continued expansion of our adult and youth classes in our 2016 Environmental Educational Calendar!

STBGNC appreciates your consideration, and is grateful for your support. Feel free to call with questions. THANK YOU!
