The Sydney monorail cost a total of $78 Million, back in 1998. The same monorail, brand new in Dubai (3.6 kms – exactly like the Sydney one) now costs $245 million including stations, rails, carriages and the total infrastrucre.

3 full train sets including 6 aerodynamic carriages for the front and the back plus 6 middle carriages for each set totalling of 18 middle carriages. General total of all sets consists of 24 carriages. Each carriage is in tact as was removed from the existing infrastructure and fully functional.

Each carriage is, as it was when it was in operation and in a perfect working condition and fully functional.

Total number of Drive gear is 36 units.

7 massive TRANFORMERS used on stations specially build for the monorail. Also large transformer Tyree Westinghouse used as Main transformer at the

monorail depot

Specially designed generator with under 200 hours. Dorman generator with Diesel engine designed with larger 1300 KVA generator unit for the extra voltage

required by the monorail demands.

Quantity of new computer systems used on each carriage and lots of new spare parts
