Potentialbidders were out in force atthe sales grounds on abustling Sunday morning. At the close of business a year ago,107 yearlings sold for an even $32 million. The averagewas down 6.3% to $299,065 and the median fell by10% to $225,000. Given current conditions, Browning is optimistic thatthe auction is primed for a strong renewal. AThe market has been pretty good and racing hasbeen good,@ Browning said. AWe had two great updatesyesterday that improved pedigree pages that werealready pretty nice to begin with. So there are a lot ofpositive factors. Returningto her native country to annex the G3 Prix de la PorteMaillot over seven furlongs at Longchamp before herfirst emphatic score in this prize, she was the subject ofa troubled passage when fifth in the six-furlong G2 British Champions Sprint S. on her final sophomorestart at Ascot in October. AFlintshire came out of theJuddmonte Grand Prix de Paris in really good shape andeveryone is very happy with him,@ the owner-breeder=sRacing Manager Teddy Grimthorpe commented. AHe willgo, all being well, to the Prix Niel, the trial inSeptember, and then head for the Arc. He looks good,he=s got this wonderfully good stride and he quickenedoff quite a slow pace at Longchamp so we have to bevery positive about him.@
