Modern Day Bonnie and Clyde Teens Caught(http://thedbz.com/modern-day-bonnie-and-clyde-teens-caught/)

Two Kentucky teens, labeled as the “modern day Bonnie and Clyde,” were arrested on Sunday in

Florida for suspicion of a crime spree involving stolen vehicles and pilfered checks throughout the

South.

Dalton Hayes, 18, and his 13-year-old girlfriend, Cheyenne Phillips, 13, were found sleeping in a

silver Toyota Tundra that was stolen in Georgia. They were both reported missing on January 3,

silver Toyota Tundra that was stolen in Georgia. They were both reported missing on January 3,

2015.

“The vehicle was surrounded by law enforcement and both Hayes andPhillips were taken into custody without further incident,” police said in astatement.

Hayes and Phillips were arrested for stealing two different vehicles and passing two stolen checks.

The first vehicle, a red Toyota pickup, was reportedly stolen from a neighbor in Kentucky. They

ditched the pickup in Georgia after they crashed it and hid in the woods, and that’s when they stole

the Tundra they were discovered in.

The sheriff of Grayson County, Kentucky, Norman Chaffins, claims the teens will be extradited

back to Kentucky by the end of the week. Hayes and Phillips will face charges of burglary, theft,

criminal trespassing, and criminal mischief. Hayes also faces charges of custodial interference for

luring a minor away from home.

This isn’t the first time Hayes has been in trouble with the law. He was arrested last year for charges

of burglary and theft in his home county. It is believed Hayes was running from his problems back

home, but Tammy Martin, Hayes’ mother, says her son is ready to come home and “face the

consequences.”

Hayes was set to appear in court at 8:30 AM today. Phillips resides in a safe location until she can

be reunited with her family, and she will face juvenile court because she is a minor.
