We would like to thank the following organizations for supporting the Carrollton Center for the Arts’ mission:
Dear Patron of the Arts,
As President of the Carrollton Arts Commission, I would like to thank you for your continued support of our many programs. It has been an honor and privilege to be part of this amazing arts center for so many years and I am very excited about the upcoming year, both onstage and around the community. The art center staff is always hard at work bringing new shows to our stage, exhibitions to our galleries and new classes to our classrooms. This season will feature main stage shows (both professional and community-produced), expanded youth education programs, professional exhibitions and many hands-on opportunities to get involved with the arts.
The main stage will feature three community theater productions. Sylvia, a modern romantic comedy about marriage and a dog, kicks off their season The holiday show, The Lion in Winter, will transport you back to the 12th Century with an epic quarrel between King Henry II and Eleanor of Aquitaine. The spring musical will be Stephen Sondheim’s A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. This season brings four professional shows featuring opera, musical entertainment, dance and comedy. Our local dance community will come together to bring The Nutcracker back to the. It is also one of four shows in the Arts in Education series that provide young people an opportunity to have a live theatrical experience.
Marcella Kuykendall and the Visual Arts Committee of the Arts Commission have put together an outstanding variety of exhibitions that will delight the senses and highlight the rich talents of local and regional artists. New art classes for all ages will provide educational opportunities for artisans to share their knowledge with seasoned and rising artists. Thank you to all our artists and staff for your efforts to make art accessible in Carrollton.
From classes and private instruction to performances and exhibits, there is something to spark everyone’s creativity this season. Art restores our spirit, transports us to far off places, touches our imagination and provides a way to find one’s true self. Your patronage and contributions keep the arts thriving for all who walk our halls and, on behalf of the Arts Commission, I want to thank you.
Sincerely,Ginna BlairCarrollton Arts Commission, President

Broadway’s greatest farce is fast-paced, witty and one of the funniest musicals ever written. A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum combines situations from the 2000-year-old comedies of Roman playwright, Plautus, with the infectious energy of classic vaudeville. Pseudolus, a crafty slave, struggles to win the hand of a beautiful, but slow-witted, courtesan named Philia for his young master, Hero, in exchange for freedom.
