Quality control

Strength

Strength calculations for the shellside do meet the requirements ofAD Merkblätter .The condensers are pressure testedrefrigerant side at 30 bar.

Control on dehydration

The shell side is blown through withdry compressed air and dehydratedby evacuation. The vacuum drynesstest is based on a stable pressure of10 mbar maintained for 30 minutes.

Quality assurance

Quality assurance is based onISO 9001.Dimensions of the condensers are inaccordance with the tolerance classof DIN 2800 8-E .Factory certificates and productionreports are available on request at anextra cost.

Construction and testingauthorities

Condensers can be supplied inaccordance with the rules of :

Water cooled condensers type HBXform an extensive standard series forboth land and marine installations.

There are 13 shell diameters avail-able in 9 standard lengths.The condensers are suitable for allhalocarbon refrigerants.Due to application of High Perform-ance finned tubes (HP-tubes) a highduty can be reached within smalldimensions .

Tube plates

Two different types of tube plates arestandard available:

S P265 GH acc. to EN 10028-2for land installations andnon-corrosive cooling water.

I Cupro-Aluminium for sea water,brackish water and corrosivecooling water.

Cupro-Alum. is an Cu-Al-Ni-Mn-Fealloy. It contains no Zinc. This alloyoffers, for above application, an excel-lent protection against corrosion andcavitation.The holes in the tube plates aredouble grooved to give a betterresistance against thermal tension.

Tubes

For the tubes there are 3 differentstandard options :

A Aluminium-BrassHP finned tubes

C Cupro-Nickel 90/10HP finned tubes

K SF Copper HP finned tubes

General Information

The condensers are manufacturedwith seamless-steel-shell andCupro-Aluminium tubeplates withtubes (HP-type) of Aluminium-Brass(CuZn20Al2).Covers for 2 and 4 passes can besupplied in 3 different materials:

G - Cast iron,

P - Plastified cast iron,

B - Bronze.

This choice of material allows apply-ing for land as well as marine applica-tions.

Suitable for all halocarbon refriger-ants. Duties: from 32 up to 547 kW(10 K lmtd).

In standard execution the condensersare supplied with :

– 1 Hotgas connection (welding-soldering stub).

– 2 Liquid connections (welding-soldering stub); 1 connection issufficient for the whole duty.

– 2 Connections d" NPTF, e.g. forconnecting a levelglass.

– 1 Connection 2" NPTF, e.g. forconnecting a safety valve.

– 2 Adjustable supports for mountingon floor, wall or ceiling.

General information

The HC model water cooled condens-ers form an extensive standard seriesfor both inland and marine cooling in-stallations. There are 6 shell diame-ters in 10 standard lengths available.The condensers are suitable for allhalocarbon refrigerants for a capacityrange of 2 up to 165 kW at 10 K lmtd.

Due to the application of plain tubingthese condensers are less sensitiveto fouling. At identical capacity, therefrigerant volume of a plain tube con-denser is greater than that of a finnedtube condenser.This often makes it possible to usethe condenser as a liquid receiver.

Design

The condensers are built up of :

– seamless steel shell

– tube plates: steel orcupro-aluminium

– water tubes: plain tube ø19 mmmaterial: copper oraluminium-brass

– End covers: cast iron or plastifiedcast iron. Water connections on oneend cover. The other end cover hastwo connections G ¼" for purgingand drainage.

– Supports are available at extra cost.

– Completely coated version avail-able at extra cost.

Choice of waterconnections

With the exception of the HC-6, thecondenser end covers are suitable fortwo water flows.

When less water is available the outerconnections are used for in-and outletpurposes and the central connectionmust be sealed off (single water flow).

For a higher water flow (or half thewater velocity) the outer connectionsare designed as water inlet and thecentral connection as water outlet(double water flow).

General information

The water cooled condensers typeHN are suitable for all halocarbonrefrigerants and ammonia.The range includes 24 models with6 diameters and 4 standard lengths.Each model available with 2, 4, 6 or8 pass water covers. Cooling surfacefrom 57 up to 379 m2.Duties for ammonia from 636 up to6051 kW at 10 K lmtd.
