In this issue, we are celebrating the launch of MODEL ATELIER, a brand that’s for the tall and confident woman. !Robin Harris is a Ford Model, based in Chicago, and has traveled the world in her modeling career. She’s walked the runway for many designers including Oscar de La Renta, LaFayette, and Carmen Marc Valvo. She’s graced the pages of “O” magazine, Teen Vogue, and EBONY magazine. She’s done campaigns for Ebony Fashion Fair and Revlon. She’s traveled from London to Paris, Cape Town to Johannesburg, and has been to 182 cities in the United States as a runway and print model. She also recently graduated with her MBA in International Business. This 6 feet tall beauty has traveled the world, doing what she loves, all while wearing high heels! !Now she’s launching MODEL ATELIER, an online retail store, featuring her clothing line for tall women, and a beauty collection. !Once I started modeling the clothes would fit perfect for the runway shows, but when it came time to purchase them at stores, the fit and length of clothes were not there. Being in the fashion industry for over 10 years, I still see the lack of luxury clothing for tall women. Modeling helped me become an entrepreneur with the business and marketing aspect behind the shoots, commercials, and runway shows. !Although I’m represented by a prestigious modeling agency, I still had to learn that I was my own BRAND. Modeling for a big agency you are not only representing the agency, but you are representing and marketing yourself. Combining modeling while going to business school, I’ve learned similar concepts. Once I realized I had a niche for being able to design a clothing line for tall women sizes 0-12, produce what they want, and having a background in fashion and business, it was time to start my own company. Having a background in fashion and business I’ve decided to created Model Atelier , a Tall clothing brand. I want the tall consumer to know that their clothes were designed by someone who understands the frustration of finding the perfect length and fit. When customers shop the MODEL ATELIER CAPSULE COLLECTION, they will see clean lines, sleek versatile staple pieces. This first collection is to introduce the costumer to the perfect fit of stylish clothing along with the simplicity of being chic. My collection is very transitional, you can wear it to the corporate office, and out for cocktails with the girls.

You’d be surprised at how you can turn a business look to an after five look, with a blazer that turns into a Moto jacket and pencil skirt that has an adjustable slit. I teamed up with a young American designer LaTonya Williams of ES Fashions to produce the clothing line in the United States. Naming the company MODEL ATELIER, I wanted and needed to be hands on with every aspect of design to production. Working with Ms. Williams, I was able to have input in pattern making, fabric selection, trims, and even cutting the fabric to the marker paper! !Creating the MODEL ATELIER makeup line was so much fun! I‘ve always loved cosmetics. I actually was a makeup artist before I became a model. I worked as a certified M.A.C artist for a while at a store in Chicago. The makeup collection consist of eyeshadows, lipsticks, and blushes, inspired by the latest runways colors of the season. Traveling to New York and Paris for Fashion Week was the inspiration behind the makeup collections. Going behind the scenes of the runways shows, seeing what the makeup artists had in their kits, and looking at the Fall 2014 runway collections colors at the designer shows was remarkable. Our eyeshadows and blushes are mineralized, highly pigmented, and last all day. I’m always thinking about what’s next, I guess you’’d have to stay tuned for to find out.

trench coats. LVX nail polish created their Fall 2014 collection using the runway

color trends seen collectively at the fashion shows of NYC, Paris, and Milan.

The Model Atelier Beauty Collection was inspired by the behind the scenes makeup at the fall 2014 runways shows of Dolce & Gabbana, Givenchy,

and Alexander McQueen Paris and NYC. Models constantly wore taupe or metallic

eyeshadows with shades of gray to look natural yet illuminating with contoured cheeks.

Women 5’9’’ and taller have always had a difficult time finding luxury items to fit their long legs, torso’s and arms. We’ve talked to thousands of women who are looking for an actual collection that’s stylish, sleek, and versatile at a physical store where they can try on the clothes. While retailers and designers offer selections for tall consumers on-line, they missed the marked on offering a physical store. On-line shopping is convenient, and simple to make purchases, it’s also very inconvenient if the clothes doesn’t fit right and having to deal with returning your purchase via mail. After extensive research, Model Atelier decided to be the resolution to the TALL ISSUE women have with fashion and retail. On the next few pages you will see the brands first Capsule Collection. Model Atelier will have a series of pop up stores in the United States, where women 5’9’’ and taller can try on and purchase luxury staple pieces made for their body type. The first of its kind will be introduced at 900 North Michigan Avenue Shops in Chicago. Launching during the holiday season Model Atelier will open its doors as a pop-up store from November 18, 2014 through December 31, 2014.

Q: What inspired you to start your own business? A: My mom has been my main inspiration to start my own business. My mom has been selling jewelry for 8 years and travels all over the world doing business. Q: Where does your jewelry collections come from? A: I love traveling, some of the jewelry is from Nepal, India, Thailand, and Dubai. Each country offers something different, so I have vast collection of jewelry for my clients. !

Q: Do you have a “go -to” designer? A: Not really, I like choosing different things here and there. I have more of an upscale bohemian style, so I keep tabs on designers that reflect my style. Q: How did you get started in modeling? A: My friend and I decided to have a photoshoot of our own, and I sent the pictures in to FORD MODELS in MIAMI. I got a call back, signed a contract, and moved to Miami to start modeling. Q: What do you remember from your first runway show? A: All I remember was that it was extremely hectic, and considerably short, and models just stripping left & right. !
