Nearly 75 million Americans suffer from a mentaldisorder every year, of which 2/3 do not receivethe help that they need. Our goals for 2013 are toraise awareness about mental health by
encouraging people to seek help when they needit, educate Michigan communities about mentaldisease, and empower people to speak openlyabout mental health. Join MNSA in the 2013-2014Community Health Project of promoting MentalHealth Awareness: Advocating for Support inMichigan Communities. Encourage your localSNA chapter to participate in making ourcommunities aware that mental health is anillness that needs to be recognized and treatedproperly. To thank you for participating in ourstatewide initiative, MNSA will send your SNA

Michigan Mid-Year Convention

The mid-year convention is a one-day event held
in the Upper Peninsula; it is an opportunity for
nursing students to gain valuable information on
how to strengthen their SNA chapters.
Presentation topics include fundraising ideas,
membership growth, bylaws and policy writing,
conventions, and MNSA awards and
scholarships. Join us up in the UP for informative
presentations, networking, and more!

If you are interested in running for a 2014-2015
state board position, this event is for you. Get
your feet wet by sitting in on a MNSA board
meeting, working alongside current board
members, and getting the inside scoop on
positions in which you may be interested. Lunch

annual MNSA
convention! This is a great opportunity to
represent your school of nursing, network
with other students, visit educational
breakout sessions, and meet recruiters in
Exhibitors Hall. You are invited to helppass resolutions and the 2014 budget in
the House of Delegates. We will
announce the winners of this years
awards and scholarships and elect a new
state board for 2014-2015. Whether you
come for one day or stay for the whole
weekend, this is an event you wont want
to miss!
