Friday 31st March 2017 — Newsletter 37
Executive Headteacher— Miss Nicola Ball
Dear Parents,,
Welcome to the final Newsletter of the Spring Term!
It is bursting with proud moments and well worth settling down with a beverage to read at your leisure.
Seaborough were incredibly proud of themselves for achieving the most points across the term and enjoyed their non uniform day today. The children across the school are already talking about how they can earn points both individually and as a team next term!
The Winning Team—Seaborough
Across the school from children to staff we are all looking forward to a really well earned Easter Break.
I hope you all have the opportunity to enjoy some relaxation time with your children and that you all return ready to start the Summer term full of energy and smiles.
Have a great break,

OAK CLASS—NEW EQUIPMENT
The children in Oak class were very excited with the delivery of
their new play equipment including new scooters and trikes
funded by the PE & Sport Grant . This will help with their physical
development, balance and motor skills.
We saw some wonderfully whacky
hair on Friday and we sold all our red
noses.
Across the Ashlands and Misterton
Federation we made a hair raising
£193.55!
Thank you.
In his writing Ashton remembered to use full stops and capital letters. He used the conjunction 'but' to extend his sentences. I was also very pleased to see him use suffix 'ed' at the end of chopped.
Well done Ashton
Juliet wrote a lovely rags to riches story which demonstrated good use of vocabulary to describe her character and setting.
Well done Juliet
KILVE 2017
Hannah, Maddie, Emily, Sophia, Lilly-Marie and Rebecca went on their residential to Kilve with
Ashlands and St Bartholomew's schools.
“It was so amazing there , we all were very excited.“ “In the forest we had to make a den, that would keep us safe,
dry and warm.” “My favourite activity was mountain biking.” - Rebecca
“My favourite was the disco and the shop, I bought a cute toy squirrel and I met loads of friends in the disco.” -
Sophia
On the second day we did wall climbing and grass sledging, the climbing was really fun and the grass sledging was
really complicated because when you wanted to go right you turn left and to go right you turn left!” - Maddie
“In mountain biking we had to ride up and down hills and in and out of cones.” - Lilly-Marie
“The second activity was low ropes, we put a helmet on and helped other children get across the rocky logs, spider
web, stepping stones and the rickety bridge.” - Hannah
“My group started with team building, we had to do loads of activities using team work to solve them.” - Emily

Maths Week
The children across Misterton and Ashlands took part in a range of exciting maths focussed activities
across the week. On Tuesday the children from Misterton went to Ashlands School. They visited
Superbuy and Waitrose in Crewkerne to experience using money in real life situations. In Waitrose Oak
class were looking at the price of fruit and veg and comparing the prices. Reception were comparing the
weights of different fruit and veg. In Superbuy the children spent a £1 on whatever they wanted and had
to work out if they had enough money and if they would get any change.
The Focus for Cedar Class for Maths week was to build Stonehenge. The Year 2 children looked at the
shape, the Year 3’s at the weight and the Year 4’s have to work out how much icing sugar they would
need to build Stonehenge. The children costed it, created the shopping list, bought the items and then
built it!
During Forest School Oak class created repeating patterns and compared the lengths of different sticks
using their vocabulary longer and shorter. Both Oak and Cedar enjoyed cooking marshmallows over the
camp fire and sipping hot choc-
