Jackson County CampusLEARN TO SWIMSession I: June 3 - 13Session II: June 17 - 27 Session III: July 8 - 18 9 A.M., 10 A.M., 11 A.M.Cost: $85Ages: 3 - 12Contact: Dr. Terri [email protected] A fun and instructive course teaching basic swimming skills. Certified instructors and lifeguards are on duty with classes limited to 30 students. Classes meet for 50 minutes each day for nine days over two weeks. Sessions are conducted at the indoor swimming pool in the HPAE Building. Wear a swimsuit and bring a towel. Changing areas are available.

BASIC ROBOTICS & TECHNOLOGY June 17 - 219 A.M. - 3 P.M.Cost: $180Ages: 10 - 15Location: HPAE Building, Room 204 Contact: Dr. Terri [email protected] interactive camp building robots,

stomp rockets, and other fun projects! Students work in teams to design and build a VEX robot using the latest technology and then compete on the final day using the robots they create. Campers also learn teamwork and leadership skills. Bring a sack lunch. Wear comfortable clothes. Camp supplies included.

INTERMEDIATE ROBOTICS & TECHNOLOGYJune 24 - 289 A.M. - 3 P.M.Cost: $180Ages: 12 - 17Location: HPAE Building, Room 204 Contact: Dr. Terri [email protected] camp is designed for those who have already completed the Basic Robotics camp or have previous experience. Campers build VEX robots and learn the basics of computer technology programming for robotics as well as teamwork and leadership skills. Fun team competitions included! Bring a sack lunch. Wear comfortable clothes. Camp supplies included.

EXPLORER’S ENVIRONMENTAL CAMPSession I: June 10 - 14Session II: July 15 - 19 9 A.M. - 3 P.M.Cost: $175Ages: 12 - 16Location: Estuarine Education CenterContact: Melissa [email protected] up, get outside, and stay active! Join us this summer for our annual outdoor adventure-based camp with a new name. Campers have the opportunity to participate in various adventures and activities and gain knowledge about the wild outdoors. Activities include, but are not limited to, paddling (kayak, canoe, stand-up paddle board), swimming, nature hikes, rock climbing, disc golf, Ropes Challenge Course, outdoor adventure skills, and field trips to local destinations. All participants must be competent swimmers and comfortable in, on, and around the water (pool, bayou, or ocean/beach). We will spend a majority of the day

outside, so participants must bring water bottles, snacks, sack lunches, sunscreen, bug spray, a towel, bathing suit, appropriate clothing, and any necessary medical/health items.

CHEMISTRY Session I: July 8 - 12Session II: July 15 - 199 A.M. - 2 P.M.Cost: $75Ages: 11 - 14Location: Science BuildingRoom 128Contact: Dr. Terri [email protected] fun and interactive week learning about chemistry. Campers make polyurethane foam, slime, plexiglass crystals, fingerprints and more. They also paint Chemistry Camp T-shirts; make glue; create colorful designs with paper chromatography; compete in Quiz Bowl and T-shirt design contest; and take a field trip to Chemours. Wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes. Bring a sack lunch.

DREAM IT, BUILD IT, PLAY IT: EXPLORING THE VIDEO GAME INDUSTRYJuly 8 - 128 A.M. - NoonCost: $89 Age: 10 - 14Location: Weeks HallContact: Eric [email protected] this one-week summer camp, students between the ages of 10 - 14 will embark on a journey to discover the amazing world of video games! Through interactive learning sessions, participants will understand what goes into creating their favorite games from preproduction to production, through play-testing, and finally to publishing the game for the world to play and enjoy. The students will utilize Minecraft for Education as well as Roblox to build elements and scenarios very similar to those found in the industry. Students will explore worlds created in those environments and use the knowledge obtained in the interactive sessions to assist them in creating their very own game or mod. Students will also have the opportunity to explore careers in the video-game industry.
