The Spurlock Museum began as three different cultural museums on the 4th floor of Lincoln Hall on the University quad: European Cultures, Classical Archaeology and Art, and Oriental. By the end of the 1960s, renewed interest in the museums led to a formal broadening of their scopes to include Africa and Asia and a new name: The World Heritage Museum.

Mission StatementExchange, America's Service Club, is a group of men and women working together to make our

communities better places to live through programs of service and Americanism, Community Service, Youth Activities and its national project, the Prevention of Child Abuse.

Jacob has a busy resume as expected including serving as a class officer, NHS, and the UHS Academic Monogram program. He volunteers for local Youth Football, helps in the Stratton Elementary School as an afterschool volunteer. He also finds time to work for A & R Mechanical Contracting, and the Urbana Park District.

By 1990 a generous donation was made by alum William Spurlock to build a new, purpose-designed museum structure on the east side of campus. Additional donations of artifacts from other units on campus, including the ethnographic pieces from the Museum of Natural History (now closed), increased the global scope of the collections. After opening in 2002, the Spurlock Museum of World Cultures opened with 9 permanent exhibits, a dedicated space to changing exhibits, an auditorium for events, a learning center for hands-on activities, and carefully designed spaces for artifact storage and research.Members were encouraged to visit on a Sunday when tours are offered. The Museum has 5 featured galleries and 2 temporary galleries that change during the year.

Kim Shearhan receiving a certificate of participation from President Wilcox for her program presentation.

Jacob introduced his parents and shared his plans to attend Western Illinois University with a career goal to become a first responder and paramedic/firefighter.
